These owners all have/had air cooled cars, so probably an old habit.
Just joking around.

I know we struggle with production numbers for 964’s but we have a general idea of what was produced for each model. I’m curious if anyone has actually paid attention to US and or total global production for each of the colors. What are the odds of having two 964 coupes in cobalt blue for sale in the same venue at the same time.
I have looked at so many 964 coupes I can no longer keep track. In all honesty it is impossible to say how many are painted in cobalt. Although I can assure you it is not many at least in the US. I see far more cabs in this color than coupes but if I was hard pressed to come up with an answer I would say I have seen about two dozen Cabs and about a dozen coupes to date. I have only seen one targa and about 6 91-92 3.3l turbos, 3 94 turbos for the US market so far. We know from the turbo Look registry that 2 America roadsters and 1 94 C4 wide body were painted in cobalt for the US and 1 for the ROW. So odds of two showing up for auction at the same time is a rarity no doubt.
IMO the second cobalt that just showed up doesn't look like cobalt but a bit darker but is in low light so I am speculating it has been repainted the first ones paint is in rough shape but could probably be addressed.
It would be nice if someone could access this info as they had for the 928 and 968 but for some reason Porsche is very tight lipped about 964 production info.

Anthony, I had both Carrera Cups and SuperCups in the 964/993 era. I found them really reasonable to run, except for the expensive tire budget throughout the weekend. Those engines didn't really get that high strung until they reached the RSR level. I could run several races with doing nothing more than changing the fluids. My 996 Supercup was more expensive to run than the others. But I think people would be foolish to run them now. They have become worth too much money to destroy in a lapse of judgement

A very attractive time capsule '90 C2 just popped up on BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...11-carrera-39/
So someone on bat just called this out, same seller selling it now posted here a year ago In the 964 prices thread saying he was looking at buying it from an older man for $33,000 however on bat it’s a different story saying it’s his fathers car I think.
regardless it’s a good looking car, but I like to also “buy the seller” and honesty matters.
Good evening all, new member with first post who would appreciate the group’s input. I am looking at buying a 1990 964 C2 with approximately 55,000 miles. White exterior with wine/burgundy interior (not sure what the official color is called). It is in excellent condition inside and out, current owner (2nd) has had it for about 20 years and has only put 15,000 or so miles on it. This is the 4th Porsche he has owned and or restored so he knows how to take care of them. What do people feel is a fair price for a 964 of this vintage and condition?
FYI, I think he is going to ask around $33K which it seems is a fair price given the limited research I have had a chance to do.
Appreciate any input from the group.
