I have to disagree. The car could have brought much more in this market especially with a known seller. I am surprised he didn't ask more. These things are on the rise at least here in the US and we are seeing a decent $$ increase in solid cars. Late build 93 or 94's are the most deireable of the bunch especially since so few were made and many updates to the cars over the years that the earlier cars are lacking. I see coupes with more needs than not selling for nearly $60k and others holding firm at $30k for C4's with 100% needs. Occasionally there is the rust bucket with tons of bodywork, no history and a tip trans sell for less but not many. Accident damage or resprays are selling all the time, most buyers have no clue they had accident damage till after they purchase them or ever realize until they go to sell. If it is properly repaired and no tub damage, evidence of any damage, bondo etc why does it matter? I know of a gorgeous AR that had both rear quarter panels replaced and the car was completely repainted. A trained eye could not tell that any work was done it was that good. If it wasn't for the carfax on this one nobody would be the wiser. I know of dozens of cars that have traded hands that have had entire clips replaced and tubs straightened and the owners have no clue and paid top dollar for their cars. At the end of the day there is no accident report so nobody knows and even the best trained eyes would be hard pressed to tell.

To comment on Tarek’s approach, I wish more dealers were like him. He addresses some of the bigger items that the car needs to make it a reliable and fun driver but doesn’t go crazy on the details. He then prices his cars below market so the buyer can then spend some additional money on the details as they see fit. It seems most (not all) used car dealers spend their money to make the car look pretty and intentionally ignore the major mechanical items. The lipstick approach.

As far as values, there has definitely been another increase over the past 8 months and I’ve found it to be across the board on C2 Coupes, C4’s and Targa’s. Cabs have gone up nominally but I think that could be partially due to many still having needs that haven’t been addressed.

None of the US CC websites are active. I've had a few discussions with other owners about resurrecting the excellent site Bob and Rob used to run. Bob wrote the definitive article on the 964 US cups, great guy.

I have shared a lot of my info with both Rob and Bob, including original Porsche press printing, purchase docs etc. They both have helped me in the past and are a wealth of information on these cars. Bob was very helpful on my other Cups as well. I have the Rennlist to thank for meeting both of these guys, as well as another knowledgeable source, Adrian Streather.
