Thank you, all.
I'd be nothing if it weren't for the info and editing of a fellow Rennlister. To him: that presentation only stands tall resting on your shoulders, sir! Thank you for your help and advice with it.

Also, paraphrasing M. Python Holy Grail's contentious, old plague guy*: "--I'm not dead, yet!"
I ain't going nowhere but here in the foreseeable future. 'Here' is a great place for Porsche fans.

Never heard of these unicorns. Thank you for posting. I’d love for @cobalt to comment on the authenticity of the story and the cars being offered. Ordinary colors for such rare birds.

Thank you!

throwing this one in here, car fax says there was damage to the car that the owner can’t confirm nor the shop he took it to. Anyone ever hear of reports as such?

This is a tough one. These are true unicorns and the person who follows these the most doesn't visit here much anymore. If Flachbau is reading he might chime in.

No doubt he was lucky to find these back in 2000 and probably paid very little for them. Mark used to have all the vins with pictures posted on his site Flachbau.com but has taken that info down. He does have the last produced package car as vin 458 and last delivered as 454 vs the ad which states 456 as the last. AFAIK the last is 458. In any case these are rare cars and the story seem to hold true. Other than the wings which have permanently modified the cars rear by adding the pins there are other things changed not noted. Changed front splitter, exhaust and all the Turbo S's should have polished speedlines. One has silver painted speedlines. Exhaust should be twin tip vs single and if there are any modifications to the engines remains to be seen. IMO the most valuable is the most original and that would appear to be be the white one. One of 2 produced in this color it appears to be the most original of the 3. I saw one of the flachbaus in this pearl white years ago when it was traded between a friend and Ray Joseph of rpmsportscars.com. Not something I would own as the color is a bit 90's (not to offend anyone) ricer is the only term i can think of, with a heavy metallic. Ray is the other expert on these and would most likely know every pro and con regarding each. He currently has one for sale on his sight, one we discussed here with the prior owner a number of years back.

If I were to guess the selling owner most likely paid less than $100k for each back in 2000. My friend purchased his flachbau back around then from Ray for a little over 6 figures IIRC and I passed on it back in 2007 for $133k. I suspect they will be asking high 6 figures to low 7 figures for each. Extremely rare and one of my favorite all time 964's with the 92 MY 964 turbo 3.3l Turbo S lightweight being the king of the hill. One of those sold at Amelia a few years back with delivery miles for over $2mm.

IMO most mechanics aren't body shops and don't have the knowledge of how to look for accident damage. It usually requires disassembling parts to investigate but tape lines and paintwork can easily be metered and looked for. These were single stage paint and not many shops have used single stage since the 90's most use base clear and it is easy enough to tell if paintwork was done with a rag and some polish. If no black comes off on the rag it is base clear so repainted.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I am more about colors, and quantity, these are interesting but out of reach. Will be watching none the less. White is my least favorite color on any car, let alone a sports car. But that is my affinity for silvers, grays and blues talking. All the best.

That car sold for $65.5k. Apparently the carfax wasn't an issue for the bidders.

Well I was going to sell my nice original 92 C4 Cab for $45k. Only 61,000 miles.
looking at the prices I think I’ll hold onto her. Doubt I’ll see a nice replacement one for the same money.

1991 C2 on BAT already at $52k. Its grill smile is a frown but easily fixable.

Define "trying"

lol. The amount of effort I put into selling this thing is sad... I turned down a solid offer last week. I'm trying to enjoy it before the snow comes.
