I posted the car along with appraisal etc. Some how Rennlist was convinced to take it down. From what I have been told, my post did not break any rules of the site. . Or if you reach out to Rennlist everything is archived.

ha. I just went back and read some of the old thread. I'm deleting what I wrote - not because I was wrong - but because I don't want anything to do with the people who owned the car or anything that might come from bringing up names. lol

I've got the appraisal from January if anyone believes this car is actually for sale and wants to know more...

That is interesting. What I have learned from Gretch and Rennlist is that the post did not violate any of the rules. They were contacted and pushed to take it down. Which they admitted was not in line with Rennlist platform. I had an appraisal, posted it and offered all the background knowledge on the vehicle . Clearly, as it sold for $83,000 by the other owner of vehicle. Which is precisely the amount I listed in my Rennlist post. So clearly, Matt you are out of line.

The car is no longer for sale. As it states above it sold for 83,000. Same amount as appraisal. I’m happy to share the appraisal as well. No secrets here. Just sharing selling price as that is what this thread was asking! Thanks

I always wondered why there are sooo many Red 964s, now I get it which makes mine even rarer at Silver also being an ‘89.5. Proce just went up, not that I’m ever selling but very informative. @Tarek307 should have no problem selling this one fast.
Hammer Down at $69k/$73K after fees for a Red 125k mile C4. “Buy the Seller” mine just went up in price at least $25K after this. Very glad to see.

The conversation from when this car was for sale went off the rails fast - that is what I didn't want to be involved in. It is a seller's prerogative to disclose or communicate - which is fine. I just know the last time (only time? I honestly can't tell) this car was up for sale multiple people wasted their time. Lots of people asked simple questions and didn't get answers. There was a good amount of drama that wasn't worth it to me. I don't think that's out of line, and I honestly wasn't talking about you. I just call it like I see it. Glad the car found a new home.

Being new to the forum and having a love for Porsche’s . . I did my best to post information about the car in the same way that the other members do and actually, I responded extensively to many interested parties. In the end, not sure how it was a waste of time. Only 1 car to go around. . Just like any car. Hopefully now we can get back to forum life.

I think all red C4 owners (myself included) owe Tarek a big thank you for exponentially increasing the value of their cars seemingly overnight

lol, it’s funny that now because of one auction everyone thinks their car is worth so much.

The car was being sold by @tarek307 a trusted known seller that gets a premium because of the reputation he built and quality of cars he sells, another seller like that is 911R and WOB and so on.

also the car had an interesting story, euro delivery at a special event, RH wheels and that engine and trans rebuild by a pretty infamous shop.

lastly you had 2 bidders fighting over it and propelled it from $57 all the way upto $69.

In the end it comes down to “buy the seller” and having the rite bidders in the room, if any of us had a 89C4 with 125k miles advertised for $60,000 it would take forever to sell lol. So not everyone can achieve these results.

Data points are data points. Is your '89 C4 worth less after yesterday's auction? Probably not.

Regardless, my comment was said in jest, especially considering I will never sell my car (and if I did the asking price would be a heck of a lot higher than what Tarek's car sold for).

A total red mist auction bidding situation.

I'd rather buy a later model year, lower mile, better color (IMO, because biased because motorsport), equally well-documented and tastefully upgraded, Carrera 2 for that type of money.
