VW/Audi 07K (2.5L 20V I5) Swap Thread

Steam vent goes to expansion tank.
If you decide not to run the coolant bypass from the RCF to the Tstat / Water Pump housing (no heat) you’ll need to drill a couple 1/4” holes in the Tstat to allow some flow while the Tstat is closed.

Here's how I plumbed mine. This is sort of a copy from another build but it works, and ditto on drilling holes in the thermostat. For this setup it helps get things flowing way faster, and with the turbo now it comes up at a more reasonable pace. This is with the same coolant hose used in the NA build, and the stock fan setup has been working fine, however I'll be moving to a more precise control system in the future.

Saw that piece yesterday too. $3500USD. Pretty good price for what it is.

That is a beautiful piece. I know this is a dumb question, but would it accommodate a turbo setup, or is it strictly for N/A applications?
I have my 968 track car for sale on BaT, but if it doesn't sell, I would seriously contemplate an 07K swap for it. This, along with some aero to go along with the extensive mods I've already made to the car, would make for a formidable track weapon.

Improved Racing ENV191 Thread 3/4 x 16 fits perfectly with the IAbed block if anyone was curious. Can nearly clock it 360 degrees if needed.

Proper Aero makes a ton of difference. Not always crazy expensive. Just depends how deep you want to go.
Do it!!

Thanks, unfortunately those newer DAZA RS3 crankshafts don't fit the earlier 07k engine that this swap is based around. Needs to be the first gen TTRS crankshaft PN 07K105101P to fit these 07k swaps. ECS sources all theirs from Audi who doesn't have any in stock and doesn't know when more will be manufactured . Didn't think they'd be this hard to come by.

I just noticed these are super cheap now, less than $500. I am going to guess discontinued. I ordered one to see what they say.

By any chance does anyone know what was done to Alan's 944 with regards to the rear suspension modification? On one of their track videos they mentioned they lowered it while keeping the geometry similar. They said it gave the car more grip. I am looking to do the same on my car especially since I'm gonna run 17 inch rims. I just want to see how others have gone about it.
Thanks
