Sid how are you launching the car? Do you have a 2 step I would think most turbo cars would bog off the line.

I have a two step but I havnt needed to use it with this engine yet. I have been skipping the clutch while trying to hold 5000 rpms. Sometimes I over do it and spin bad and sometimes it'll drop and bog a little. It picks up quick though. I will start using the 2ayep soon since I now feel I've proven the combo for the average driver/setup to be able to duplicate.

The sixty foots will improve dramatically like they did with the 2.5... Until something breaks.

I expect to be running 1.6 sixty foots soon

Why not dial in the two step so that you can get that perfect launch every time with the only variables being track conditions? I know that using a 2 step allowed me to focus on cutting a good light and less about what my launch RPM or boost was at once I figured out the sweet spot.

BTW I forgot to ask what you were using for a BOV since you ditched the DSM one. Maybe you ditched it entirely since you are running a holset.

I will be doing that from here out Jared. We had to put timing back in to the anti lag circuit bc if I left my foot on the clutch at all it would bog it at 0 degrees. Now that the combo is proven in a relatively normal driving condition I'm not worried about limiting myself anymore.

I'm actually using a DSM bov. I don't know why this on is working better but it seems to be good. I ran a long time without one but it was hard on the turbo. It's still alive so....praise Holset!!!!

Btw I looked up a bunch of videos and I am running right with ZR1's, 997 tt's, and Porsche GT's, Ferrari 430's...

Ive never had much faith that those would make much horsepower over the fairly well built stock ones. But at the power you're making, I have hopes. Can't wait to see if the MPH increases. Very nice.

I do have a little hope. These are not too much larger than stock at 1.68 ID, they are a very thick wall so they should retain heat. If anything I'll have a full V band setup that will last. They also sound phenomenal!!!

Just trying to maximize the combo a little more before cranking it up. I think I should gain a few mph with the changes I'm making this weekend and then it's back to trying differnt cams, head, manifolds etc

When you say 'those' are you saying larger diameter extractors, equal length extractors, Dave Novak's version of...or what? I don't have a lot of knowledge of exhaust gasses and can only assume that larger headers either allow more exhaust gas to escape faster thereby speeding up and improving the turbo/combustion process or that they induce or promote a type of drawing action which pretty much does the same via inducement? Either way, why is there a question over these or any non stock header? The feedback I was getting for my larger motor on the engine dyno was that the CEP headers were almost doing too good a job and creating a problem for the (modified) stock intake.

Very nice looking headers. I hope to order some exactly like yours at some point.

Patrick, I don't understand your comment on headers causing problems with modified intake manifold. Can you provide any other info? Not questioning you, just what problem was created.

I am very happy with the Precision GT 3076R Turbo and exhaust setup I got from Bruce. It is well engineered but retains the factory headers. It spools very quick and 95ONE actually created a thread on spool times. I recall a thread where SFR claimed 30+ WHP gains on a 3l 8V Turbo, think they were referring to George D's car.

Anyway, the headers look great and Dave seems to be a standup guy. Fingers crossed for great results.

I still have the pic I can't tell you how elated I am that you got it running. Post videos of it spooling when you get the chance? (video of gauge cluster in 3rd gear)

Here's my old set up / kit I sold him.

What kind of power are you putting to the wheels and at what boost?
