Update on this car if you are watching. You will see that most of the bids have dropped out including mine. Turns out that it no longer has the original engine and has a M28/42 out of an S4. I will give it to the owner for being so upfront and honest once he realized it after being asked to verify. He had no clue it wasn’t the original engine.
He will be updating the description tonight and lowering his reserve. If I just wanted a driver this could still be a great deal.

I was the high bidder until this morning. I was gathering information from him and I asked for a picture of the engine number. It turns out it is a S4 engine and he honestly didn't know when he bought it ten years ago the engine had been changed. I was the one who convinced him to change the listing. The car needed a lot of deferred maintenance. The usual stuff plus a lot of cosmetics fixed to be a decent car. I sent him an example of the transmission numbers and hopefully he will make sure the transmission is a GT (with PSD and 2.73 final drive). It to me is a $15K car that will never be a true GT. May be low 71K miles but who knows what's on the engine.

Thanks guys for all the nice comments. Some pretty active early bidding. Bat put all 3 of my cars on at once...
Signal Red (orange) 914, my wife's car and the Sherry Corrado.... The collector car market is difficult to get a grip on these days. Color and condition are still the driving forces. Zach

I'm on this thread everyday (former 85 "S" owner), and never post....so here ya go!
Manual, no rubbies....has had a lot of recent mechanical attention based on the european collectible website.
Beautiful car overall, and not horrifically priced.
Bee stinger retro-fit the only (very minor) detractor....put the original 7&8 16's flat dish rims back on, and this thing is PERFECT in my opinion!

'83 slate gray metallic
This car was recently advertised by a "pastor" who owned a couple of the 928s.
Guess this one may be a leftover?
