Tell me about the floods, and I joke. My job sent me to work during hurricane Harvey, worked 20 hours straight could not get home for 4 days - Imelda recently was not too helpful either.

They had tons of flooded/stranded/towed cars parked at a raceway. Sorry for the sidebar. Flooded cars here.

Yep, 78 and 79 AC was optional. Maybe later years too?

If you zoom in on the HVAC unit you can see that it is heat only.

Jays car is silver and a 5 spd if I recall. At least it was when he drove me around at SITM years ago.

It's strange that someone else would swipe his name and use it for a screen name.

OK you NorCal guys. Here is a possible killer deal. '84 with 60K miles. No rubbies. Great color. Looks to be slate blue metallic. Rare platinum anodized manholes. 5-speed? Who knows, can't tell from the photos. But ad says it runs and drives. He's only asking $2800! Somebody need to investigate! Remember the '84s are the best MY of the bunch.

I sent a message. Will update here.

Curious to see why you say 84 are some of the best? Not trying to start a war or anything, I just haven’t heard anyone say that about 84 vs 85 or 86.5 for the OB. (I had an 84 auto)

The '84 provides the simplicity of 16V engine technology with the stylings of an OB body. Some prefer a pure OB look but I contend that the S spoiler treatment is the best looking of the body ad-ons. The US model 84's are plentiful and parts are the most affordable, making them generally the most maintained and consistently roadworthy of all the MYs. '84 also represents the peak of the 4.7L motor architecture. True story, Greg Brown recently asked me at Sharktoberfest '19 what the deal was with '84s. To which I replied, "What do you mean?" He said, "I never see them, seriously can't remember the last time I worked on one." I simply replied, "Well that's because the 84's are the most reliable of all model years. You're likely to never see one at your shop again."

Now don't get me wrong, IMO any year of 928 is cool. But c'mon let's quit foolin' ourselves, the '84s are where it's at.

Probably doesn't see them because they can't afford him

90gt on BAT

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...sche-928-gt-7/

I inspected this car back in August.

I have more pics from my SLR if anyone wants to see them.

Coles notes:
-the usual maintenance issues.
-needs a re-paint due to 3 rust spots and peeling paint on the rub strips.
-AC compressor hanging down. Another PPI done by an interested party in Quebec found damage to front right lower control arm. Per that buyers conversation with me.
-rust on the underside, likely stored outside or it’s seen some salt.
-rust hole near bottom of windshield in passenger door jam, per Quebec buyer.
-ABS light on from start up.

I walked away once I saw the rust and AC compressor hanging down, just not interested in any 928 that needs paint.

I hope anyone interested on bidding on this one sees this post. Might have to put a link on BAT comments?? Bidding is up to 15K. Any one would be crazy past this amount. Buyer beware!

Just my opinion of course, but I believe the sub 20k Gt in just about any condition is long extinct.

True. But this one needs 20k thrown at it and the market is **** in Canada. You cant fix the rust correctly without painting this car (rear quarter window and roof), the third spot I did not see. But hey someone may be happy driving it as is. When I started it up and turned on the AC it made a hell of a noise. Then I saw that the compressor was hanging down per the pics above. Seller did not seem aware of this which I found odd.

Here is a link to my pics and a start up video.
https://we.tl/t-JLAaUpzvzC

You can clearly see that the AC compressor took a good hit.
