“””Seems like a very reasonable price for what appears to be a solid car. If that’s the original paint like he says it is, that seems to be a pretty decent survivor.””””

So is the hood original...or the rest....

Nate, IIRC, this car is currently owned by the Authentic Motorcars salesman/manager when he bought it 2 years ago off another car collector salesman in Arizona. The previous owner is a german mechanic who rebuilt the entire engine and did the pasha seats. It is also repainted Schwartz metallic (which I prefer over flat black). Heee hee, I still remember what the previous owner listed it for 2 years ago. Bummed that I didn't jump on it before this owner did.

Nate probably saw this car when he was checking out the '86.5 hellblau 5 spd with 33k miles that has recently been sold.

That's correct Hoi though I believe Shannon bought the car from Authentic Motorcars. You can see it is listed in the "Sold" section. I remember seeing it listed for sale on their website before Shannon bought it.

Technically true, since Shannon works at Authentic Motors and he's the one who bought it from Arizona dealer, then he kept it for himself! Smart guy. Too bad that I am in a stalling mode and not looking to buy anymore. 1 year ago, I would've made an offer immediately.

Hope someone here gets it and can truly appreciate this car!

The first picture shows the car at Copart Houston. The dealer likely purchased it there or at least tried to sell it there. Any interested parties should double check title status and flood history. Houston was the hotbed for flood cars last year.

14K mile '83 5-speed. Big ask at $55K but also one of the lowest mileage 928's currently for sale. Verifying the mileage will be the key to this one. The bigger problem for me is that the condition, though nice is not what I would expect for a 14K mile car if it had been pampered it's whole life. The dash is starting to pull up. Radio not original. Door card carpets are starting to pull away. Corrosion in the engine bay is evident on the strut brace bolts. The yellow plating is non-existent which is not commensurate with a 14K mile motor. And what is that tool pouch? It has a Porsche bag with it, but I've never seen a tool pouch for a 928.

looks legit- and Marshall-Goldman has a pretty astounding inventory... probably not worth their time getting involved with a lowly 928 unless it was of proper stock. It’s a safe bet that Steinel’s Autowerks looked over this car for them before they took it in, so anybody interested might want to call them to see. Otherwise MG will have the car taken to Steinel’s in request for a PPI, but probably only after discussions get serious.

I like the shot of the headliner/sunroof from a BMW included.

Nice car but agree that I would think it should be cleaner with the stated miles.

Is the 83 for sale on BaT being sold by Jay Kempf who designed the timing belt tool? If so, I'm surprised a little bit by the condition and involvement of the seller. I would think that somebody like him would have a car in top shape, and he would be more active in the auction. Selling in a few minutes (or RNM).

I love the car being described as "Excellent Condition"....oh yeah except its not. "Electrical Gremlins"...."I imagine". If its in such excellent condition why cant they tell us the Gremlins that are in such Excellent Condition...

Good heavens. I love that car (re: 79, guards red over pascha Euro spec pegged by 928Noobie above). Perfect color combination. That shark is spectacular in every respect.
