I'v Finally got to the end of my FIX-IT list, Gone thru my '83 928 from the nose to tail...Now there's only parking brake shoes & changing Gear box fluid left And I;m done for now.....RIGHT??WRONG!!! I put the Battery in it & turn the key and NOTHING- I have an '83 Euro 928 with a manual gearbox , so there's no lock-out relay for the AT
I put the battery in, turn the key AND NOTHING!!! The electrical system is DEAD No warning lights, no click from the fuel Relay,(Either of them.).
The Last thing I did was change out the instrument cluster(AGAIN!!) Now I have 12.65v at the battery,Marker lights, Headlights don't come up, no turn signal or windows........New Ground strap & 1 year old battery..I've checked the relays & fuses..Turn the key & I get NOTHING, Any Ideas where to start? TIA

I would be suspicious of the ignition switch, or its connector on the back. I would take a look under the dash/pod to see if it's looking OK or not.
Good luck,
Dave

WYAI Need to double check the new ground strap and every red wire coming off of the battery positive + terminal are clean. Clean them up individually to bright and shiny and retighten them very well.

today I removed the springs that pop up the deflector at the front of the sunroof opening. was going to remove the deflector completely but with no springs it lays flat. I would much rather have a little more buffeting than the constant wind noise from the deflector. try it yourself. at speed with roof open reach up and pull the deflector down flat. much nicer IMHO.

Had to pick up some dirt bike parts from NC this morning so I could ride tomorrow as no one is doing overnight shipping.
Took the Spyder. It's the first long shake down run after doing the engine swap and sorting the complications that came up during the trip to Rendezvous from a year ago.
Lots of full throttle / full boost bursts, a number of stints up above 100, lots of cruising at 80-90 and the car is running great. Not a drop of oil or coolant underneath or in the valley and the aftermarket Verus AOS (driver's side firewall) seems to be doing a great job of capturing any blowby or crankcase vented oil as there's nothing on the vent hose or behind it under the car.
Could have only gone better if it was 15 degrees warmer where I could have done it with the top down
