My Interstate battery was slowly dying so I finally got around to installing a new one (I got the Walmart EverStart Maxx). Went and cleaned all the battery ans starter connections with my Dremel and stainless wire wheel. Also cleaned the engine ground to chassis. WOW what a difference. Only had the battery a little while but the difference in the cranking performance is like day and night.

Nice work, Jeff. It sure feels good when you find objective problems and fix them.
Thanks,
Dave

New radiator cap. Now need to hit the do it yourself car wash and give that condenser and radiator a good wash.

Why is the A/C blowing hot? Took off the air-box to close the heater valve for the summer and found the brake booster check valve was broken.

A little stick epoxy for now.

Of course it costs $20 more for the extra port - 92835566003

VW part with two ports (NLA in US?) - 191611933E

BMW with no extra port - 34331160183

Got it registered!!!!
Owned the car for two months - the DMV closed a couple days before it arrived due to the dreaded covid and it has just been sitting - taunting me -
Now it has a plate and I can finally start getting used to it.
