Installed the battery in the Jalapeno and started it. Started right up. I let it warm up, cleaned the windows and drove it around the block (2 miles). I started the '89 and let it warm up and took it around the block also. I am replacing the brake lines on the GTS with stainless steel braided lines, so I started with the left rear, which I think is the hardest one to replace.

Stripped down the Bilstiens/stock springs I bought from GregBBRD from his "virgin 90 part out", getting ready to blast clean and repaint. Got my list organized for the big push to finish the suspension install, get the brakes cleaned and rebuilt, and the details remaining underneath so it can get off the blocks onto the ground again!

Took apart the fuel pressure and return lines, now to just clean the fittings and install the new hose.

after the rains this past weekend/week, it was nice enough today to use it for a few errands. Needed some parts for my upgraded brake flush unit. Back home, washed it. But that caused more rain.

Did a brake system flush/fill today with ATE Super Blue fluid (Dot 4) and swapped out pads with more aggressive Mintex F4 compound semi-metallics.

Gettin' her in shape for SITM!

Took my baby out for a "touchless" car wash just to get the grime / dust off... Discovered I'm gonna need to "adjust" driver side door and/or buy a new gasket... it likes to leak a little air / water. Oh well, things could be MUCH worse and she looks GORGEOUS!!!

Weather looking dodgy, so I though I'd sneak out and do at least the cam-cover portion of the top-of-engine refresh. Started by pulling out the Big Box of Parts I got 18 months or so ago for the project. Found things I didn't expect (a Good Thing) and also didn't find some WYAIT stuff I now know I'll need. So the original cam covers are still on the engine. Parts order going out for those last bits.

This is an appearance-only refresh. The car runs so darn well I kinda hate to mess with it.

------

Noted the odo this morning during a quick hardware-store run: 99986! In the next day or so, my baby will transition out of "low miles" status and into whatever the next stage is. Just last year it was old enough to drink, and now this! Oh, the heartbreaks...

Finally got my PKlutch installed...

But while I was under there, I noticed that the master cylinder for the clutch is leaking!

Just a little now... But that means I've got a rough spot ahead...
