Mike,
That picture resembles my '87. Do you have any concerns about pulling the factory sound insulation? The factory stuff is foam with a rigid backing that adds shape to the center housing. I'm planning to do the same to my car. Are you going to carpet directly over the new sound insulation? If so, are you planning to use foam?

Found out there is no need to to remove the entire door panel to remove old and install new door speakers! After having removed the entire panel on the passenger side of course.. Just removed the door handle section, fished coat hanger from the door through the wire guide/hose thingy into the passenger compartment. Passenger door time to install speakers: 2+ hours. Drivers side, 30 minutes; both include moding old speaker frame for new speakers...

I did it in the reverse order. I just had the oil cooler replaced, along with other $$$ stuff, so got it out of the shop today and drove it. Then washed it and parked it. The weather was warm and sloppy today, but it's likely still a month from real 928 weather up here.

Flushed the brake system. Passed a couple liters of fluid through it. Pumped the pedal a couple times with the pressure flush tool attached, and managed to push a couple little bubbles through and out.

Drove it this morning first, but just down the hill and back on a short errand. Cleaned and waxed the wheels inside and out while they were off.

Hi,

Just took it for a quick drive, 10 minutes, get some gas, then the rain starts to appear and here we go, into the garage.

On a side note, the price of gas doesn’t stop rising!
Today the 98 octane fuel was at €1,73 for one litre!
That’s about €6,54 for a gallon, right? That is about 9 US dollars the gallon!
I know you don’t have 98 gas in the US, but what is the price of your higest octane gas?

Regards

In Northern California it's about $4.20/gallon.

Took mine out for smog test, and registration. Then over to "Lucky Jackass's" and put the bra I bought a year or so ago on it. It looks good too. Put maybe 40 miles on it, the weather was perfect today, mid 70's. Filled up tonight, gas was $3.79 for premium.

P.S. Jeff did most of the work with the bra, he said he was an expert at getting them off, so I figured he'd be real good at fitting one up. I was right!

Fitted 3 Super Bearings to the Torque Tube and then the shaft, it's now ready to go back in.

Sprayed the balancer nut with Krow-oil (again)... Grrrr. Just can't get it loose. I'm afraid to break something. I'm thinking I need to break down and buy or make a flywheel lock Anyone ever use an impact wrench on the balancer?

It takes a really big impact gun to get that bolt off. That means the radiator and maybe the a/c condenser are out to make room.

I use a 3/4" drive socket and a 5' bar. Yes on the flywheel lock
