I let my Son take the 928 for a day visiting his friends. He enjoyed the experience I'm sure. Oh forgot - I wiped some dirt off since it was a little dirty. Honest, I did touch the car.......at least.

3/19 Ran Arizona Motorsports Park - Full course @ 2.25 miles - After the first session the water reservoir decided that 26 yrs was enough and cracked right in the center top.
3/23 Ordered new water reservoir - custom aluminum with no water level sensor bung.

Wow.. you are much more brave than I am! I let my son take my 996 out for spin around the block a few years ago (since sold) and thought I was going to have an aneurism when he missed the 1st to 2nd shift resulting in overreving the engine!

Since this is what did you do for your 928.. Bought the below to install 6.5" MB Quart "add on woofers" to front lower area of doors... Will report back when received on Friday..

They are 5.25" to 6.5" adapters, constant depth all the way around.

Just finished tigtening front wheel lugs after repacking front bearings and replacing the seals. At 100k, it's time for new bearings, so I'll get a set of those for the next adventure.

Might be a good clinic activity. Anybody else in the Los Angeles area due for a wheel bearing repack/replace?

Replaced the window felts. Picked up the wheels from the powder coater. Experienced the wonders of JB Weld for the first time (22 year old plastic on the armrests is getting a little cranky)

How hard is this to do? Is there a write up on it? My S4 needs it VERY BADLY! Probably do it on EURO85 before I tint the windows too.

I just DROVE today! EURO85...what a neat car. It is a bit loud though so I am considering having the "muffler" (really just a hollow box I think) removed and an actual muffler installed to make a bit quieter but still throaty.

Replacing the felts was pretty straightforward. I tried washing the felt pads after I removed them, but wasn't happy with the results. I went to a fabric store and bought a piece of heavy nap felt: I glued the new felt over the existing felt and reinstalled the hardware in the door. The felts can be removed with the window down (after the door panel is off) relatively easily. I'd recommend having some replacement panel clips available. I broke a few white ones and a couple of black ones during the whole procedure. Several good writeups out there. Now I have to find a good tint guy in Denver.

The window felts solution is multiple. Best I've found so far (sample set = 1) is a pad with adhesive backing intended as a non-slip base for lamps and the like. From Home Depot. Cuts with heavy-duty scissors.

On the door panel clips: New ones are pretty cheap, but... The right tools make R&R of the old ones pretty easy and safe. I'm not a huge fan of some of the plastic fork kinds, but they can work. I've had good luck with a long-handled Proto gasket scraper, I slide it in right next to the clip, then twist it to pop the clip loose. I need to invent a composite fork-wedge tool for this that's foolproof. Problem is that I'd have to sell it for less than the cost of a set of replacement trim clips...

My GT is on its factory-fill front wheel bearing grease. That would be a great clinic- count me in if and when the schedule stars ever align. I'll bring the hub cap puller:
