Just a suggestion: Put a length of 2x4 as a verticle brace to the engine stand under the front of the engine. There's lots of weight srtessing the bolts holding the engine to the stand.

Default I see the

Vee dub dome lights with LED festoons.

I was inclined to stay 'classic' but these really do look good in there, nice match to the rest of the controls.

Finished installing the new stereo parts. It now sounds so much better

I also drove it 450+ miles in the wet today going from southern to northern California. That was a lot of fun with worn out rear summer tires.

I also saw another 928 (red) above Buellton on my way to Napa CA.

All this after a last minute starter swap. It was a very busy Thanksgiving break.

I crawled under it, got most of the oil pan bolts out, then cussed at it when I was trying to get the front front sides ones.... Finally had enough and went in the hot tub with a stiff drink.

Noticed power steering belt was a little loose and jacked it up to tighten all the belts while I was at it.

The sliding mount bolt on the PS pump had worked loose and was rubbing on the pulley. So a little locktite and proper torque hopefully fixed that issue.

Currently sitting in a shop waiting for a front end alignment that I have been blowing off.

Removed the driver side door lock from the Stepson. The ring on the lock assembly that holds the ball connection was broken in half. Don't know why. No particular stress there, just pot metal though. Somebody should make some steel ones.

Spent the rest of the day looking for the extra door lock in my garage. Success! Today I took both lock assemblies to my local locksmith who is already familiar with 928 locks.

Cleaned the steering rack and studied the worn bushings carefully to see all the details Rennlisters described relating to removing them.

Slow, Do you have access to an air chisel? Are adapt at utilizing such a tool? If so, when you drop the rack down, on the top of the rack, you can see the lip of the rack bushings. Use the air chisel lightly to trim away that lip. After the lip is fully trimmed away, use the chisel in a downward motion to drive the bushing out and to the ground. This method usually takes less than 10 minutes for all 4 bushings in the hands of an experienced air chiseler.

Have low idle voltage, so verified the excitation circuit all the way from the battery post to the small terminal on the alternator. Chasing trons is for the birds.

Finished my TB/WP swap! Finally got to drive the car and put my foot into it. Also released the tension on the flex plate. Still got lots of projects to go to get the car sorted out. But at least I can drive it now!

I turned it over to Sean for some needed work. That may not sound personally satisfying to many of you, but it sure is to me!

Picked up the repaired driver door lock assembly from the locksmith. Reinstalled the lock assembly, as well as the anti-theft plate back into the door. It is so nice to be able to lock the car from the driver door again!
