Painted the Rear Spolier with Dupli-color Trim Paint. Best $7.69 I spent on car so far. Looks brand new. Trying not to add up all the Mothers Back to Black and other rejuvenation fluids over the years.

Installed Carl's 2 1/2" Stainless steel exhaust that I bought from Sean a couple of years ago and 'X' pipe. Still have to install the Hi-flo cats but I will run it like this for a while until my scheduled 'E' test next year. I might get addicted to the power, especially after Victor's S/C set up is installed.
Also used that time to install Han's Super Drop-links. Both of the systems were very will thought out and installed relatively easily.
Can't wait to get the motor running again and drive the car for the first time in 5 years! Now to find that oil leak near the heads...

between brake bleeding i accomplished the following..
i removed the AC belt as the compressor is getting noisy.
I took the pod off to re position the speedo needle... i had it 15mph too low.
in doing this i also fixed the turn signal and coolant led bulbs... had them in backwards to no light was coming on.
i also soldered pigtails on the vw light i got off fleabay.

Finally got around to changing my gearbox/diff oil. Used Redline 75w90NS, with a bit of Royal Purple MaxGear 75w90 because I'm an idiot and only bought 3 QT of the Redline and had the Royal Purple left over from before. Stupid Redline doesn't use the standard size threaded opening, so my screw-on pump was messier than it should have been. Still, I was pleasantly surprised to find the old stuff not as horrid looking as I had feared. Started to round out the rear drain plug though...16 ft-lbs is not a lot of torque, clearly whoever last changed it used more when they put the plugs back in.
I was going to flush brakes and clutch but didn't get to it...

logged another short errand run today, 28 miles (600 miles for the month), The first 1/4 mile was the best, got a little squirrely, leveled out at about 60, but ran it up to 70 before I came to my senses in a 40 zone.
I get to my destination, walk inside and a guy asks me "what is that" I respond " a Porsche 928", (guy) "I thought it was a Porsche or something, I heard you drive in". ***I was idling.

Sun Roof Drains
With a cold rain approaching I decided to fix the clogged forward sunroof drains. I've done several half-assed "weed wacker" clear out jobs but never knew if what I did worked until the next rain. This time I did it right and tested each drain.
The weed wacker line would go in to the drain but then hit something hard on both sides. Tracing the length of the line showed in going 4-5 inches into the fender well. So I removed the wheel liners and sought out the rubber drains that live in there.
The drivers side is hard to reach because it's wedged behind the fuel recovery ballast(at least thats what I think it is). I was able to grab it and pull in down 2-3 inches. It's the short dirty white vertical hose coming down from the frame.
The passenger side required removal of the window washer reservoir(a PITA to R&R).
Once removed I pulled it down 2-3 inches.
Water and grit then trickled out. I used my Mtty Vac to suck the water out of the passenger drain.
I still was not able to snake the weed wacker line all the way through. I then attempted to do a feed from the bottom but it too got stuck. Not sure if there is a screen that prevents a clear shot.
To make sure the drains were open I snaked a length of Vacuum line down each drain and then blew air (from my mouth)into the line. I could hear air coming out by the fender well. I then carefully sent down about 20psi pressure from my compressor. This really helped and I was very cautious not to over pressurize and blow the drain hoses off.

Rear axle nuts - put the socket on the nut with the bar resting on the top of a jack, pointing backwards on the left side, forwards on the right side, and raise the jack. Alternatively, if doing left side, roll, or even drive the car, backwards ....the nuts come loose as easy as can be.

Swapped out the slipping 89 trani with an 88 for taller gears. I was tired of tac'ing 2300rpm at freeway speed. Now it's about 1900rpm with this transmission. Less wear, better gas mileage. Still fast enough with improved intake and exhaust mods. Added a downshift switch on the left foot area for easy downshifts.

Tested my Temp II sensor (seems to work) and my throttle cable adjustment (seems good) and somehow caused my cruise control cable to get pulled taut, causing a high idle ("fixed" by removing cable from linkage). Before that, determined that my cruise control does (well, did) actually work. Now I need to figure out what happened, although it's low priority because I never use it.
Removed old crumbly burnt waffle hood liner and replaced with Jager Engineering liner, complete with cool silver Porsche crest decal (phone died before I could snap a picture). Followed Dwayne's excellent write-up, which all went fine until it came time to get the hood adjusted. I still don't have it right. Everything works OK, but the driver's rear is a bit raised, as is the passenger front. Dammit.
