1. Dropped the re-painted sunroof in after five years and got the wind deflector springs in place but broke one end where it attaches beside the rail. Damn. Also realized how many little plastic guides I'm missing. Of course while upside down re-installing the transmission I dropped one of the washers and went hunting for it. Absolutely horrified by what was in the folds of the back seats. So a thorough vacuuming and treated everything with Rejuvenator.

2. Pulled the radio I re-installed a couple of weeks ago to trace the no go up on the passenger window. Radio is optional, working windows aren't. I dropped the two side panels and lifted the console back. Easy vertical, no movement horizontal, Yeah! I have the old school switches (two 's' brass springs) and the top easily popped off. It (the passenger switch) was corroded out. After a thorough cleaning and eye-ball adjustment of the bend I think when I tried it I blew the relay. The driver's side not working now either. Fuse good. I know about swapping the window switches to isolate that. I'll give it a swap tomorrow evening.

Anyone know of a substitute for the window relay or the jumper pattern to override just to get the window up?

3. I had a noticeable cigarette burn from a wayward ash in the back hatch area so went at it with an exacto knife. Not to remove the burn (I did try to remove the minimal discoloration) but to really loosen and tease the wool to cover over the burn. The carpets are so thick it works! You cannot see the burn at 6" much less 3'.

4. The days almost over just went ahead and Rejuvenated all the leather surfaces. Will let it sit for two days then Pristine Clean.

I'm missing it.
Just one of the pitfalls of relocating.

I washed Ellie last weekend, this weekend I waxed her. She has been in the garage and not driven for two weeks now, the longest time period for her to be idle this year other than the flex plate fiasco earlier this spring.

Default Engine back in after refurb.

Put engine back in after major refurb, including new alloy radiator (Radtec), waterpump, and timing belt, engine mounts (Volvo), cowl panel (Jerry Feather) . Real problems obtaining correct tensioner and carrier for this MY 1985 S2 (Porsche NLA) but sourced secondhand parts eventually in Germany and USA and rebuilt.
Runs like a dream now !!
Couldnt have done it without extensive reading on Rennlist and helpful advice from members and sponsors.
Thanks to everyone who helped.

P.S. Beware the Porsche Pet for this MY 1985 S2 16V re TB tensioner, carrier, cam covers etc. None fitted and had to be returned.

How tall is your ceiling in your garage? Thinking about a 2 or 4 post lift.

Pulled 2 suspect wheels in to wheel doctor. Found out one is unrepairable, he said it was bent at the hub. The other was fine. So now im between buying 18's or saving the money and just replacing the 17" chrome turbo twist.

Hi Mickster -- Garage is just shy of 10' with about 86" clearance when the door is up. I can get the S4 all the way up on a MaxJax and still miss the door.

If you have the room and don't mind a permanent install I might recommend a larger lift. For our needs, which included the ability to move it out of the way, this was about perfect.

Give a holler if you're out this way; you're welcome to come take a look.

Default Replaced gas cap cover

My gas cap cover was cracked. Got a used gas cap at Frenzy from Ed. Thanks Ed. Finally got it replaced.

Tried cleaning the gas cap with hot water and hand cleaner but cannot get it clean.

Default Replaced the gas boot around filler neck

Replaced the boot around the gas spout. The old one was all torn and letting dirt around the filler neck. It took 5 minutes to do. And now looks much better.
