If your sunroof was stuck shut for a long time, I'd check the sunroof drains. There's 4, 2 in front & 2 in back. The sunroof itself doesn't actually "seal" shut. The water seeps through and is supposed to drain out the drain tubes...
Unless they are plugged.
There's a very good writeup with a bunch of pics linked on the last page of the "New Visitor" sticky.
You'll have to search around to find the details on the drains, but short version is to try monofilament first (weed whacker line is the right size) to try and push through any blockage. Don't use compressed air, the tubes will blow off the fixed part and then you have a problem because that part is very hard to get to.
I put mine away today. It's going to snow a bunch tonight & tomorrow, and even though it probably won't stick, they're going to salt the roads. So I'm done with the "fun cars" for the season.

I was fortunate enough to score the 8s CONUS, you'll love them. Made a nice difference at autocross, steering is slightly heavier with the wider tires (I only went to 245/front) but no tramlining or other chicanery that is evident with lower offset wheels. Not the most striking in appearance, unless I'm thinking of the wrong wheels- but one of the most functional options IMO short of custom.
I have some 16x9 et70 at home that I wanted to test fit up front, but never did and now with the lack of tires, likely wont bother. Suppose if I completed the set of 4 that would be a good autocross set, but no storage.
Anyway, yesterday/today was vacuum pod diaphragm relacement misc other electric touch ups, install illuminated auto gear shift indicator.
- Fill the tank with stabilizer, drove it for about an hour and filled it again.
- Washed and dried it well.
- Let it idle for a while to make sure there was no condensation anywhere.
- Put it on jack stand and removed the wheels. Washed the wheels.
- Removed the battery and brought it in the basement. Will put it on maintainer few times during the winter.
Can't wait for April...

Stripped the 4 mm Allen head screw/bolt that holds the TB tensioner arm to the block. This despite the warning in Dwayne's write-up to be careful with it.
Then e-mailed Roger at 2 am to see if I could get it included with the other bits & pieces I ordered yesterday.

With the Ladybugs "interior resto-mod-phase-1" complete, drive train work has commenced and is in full swing. In the past month (sorry, not just today), the engine top end was documented and disassembled including intake, hoses, fuel lines, harnesses, etc.
I have never been super comfortable with jack stands so I purchased Race Ramps 10" blocks to support the car, bought a creeper, and a new floor jack.
Then I went deer hunting for a week. Saw the sunset and sunrise 6 days straight from the deciduous woods of Delaware.
Engine removal started yesterday. The goal is to clean, re-seal everything, replace all rubber bits, replace any bad parts/hardware/lines, probable head rebuild (because why not) , possible total rebuild (gulp, hopefully not) depending on condition of internals, keeping in mind it has 209k miles.
Last night and today, I successfully completed chapters 10-2 through 10-5 of WSM.
Only rounded off one crankcase drain plug, which I figure will be much easier to remove and replace after engine is out instead of wrestling it from underneath and buggering it up more. Everything else came apart relatively easy.
My goal is to complete 10-6 tomorrow, then continue and maybe even have it on a stand next weekend, or maybe the next after next.
Surprised I haven't screwed up more since this is by far the most complex mechanical work I've attempted. Built a small boat from the hull up, and that was nowhere near as complex as this car.
But so far so good. Thanks to the forum participants for an incredible amount of info and tips that makes this job doable for a newbie.

Finally did the flex plate/clamp/TB procedure this afternoon, using a lift a friend made available to me at a nearby Christian retreat complex. I doubt it had ever been done before; car is at 97K miles. Shaft moved quite a bit, 3.2mm, but thrust bearing free play was just 0.2mm. Jesus saves!
Kind of feel sorry for the guys who "store" their 928's for the winter but then, that's one of the many benefits of living in Texas. About 78 of us met in Marble Falls last weekend for the 14th Annual Third Coast Event. Video by Don Carter. Party by Roger Tyson.
Put the car in storage for the winter just before it started showing like crazy. Removed the battery and put drier sheets all over to keep the cries out.
