So what did you do to your 928 Today......

Installed the Radian/Sunshine kids 65XL seat I purchased from another 928 owner. I am so impressed with this seat and even more impressed by how well it fits in the 928. Then took a ride with son who obviously enjoys the ride in his new seat.

I finally replaced the right side rear bumper (buffer). The previous owner gave me the part when I bought the car from him because he was meaning to replace it but never got around to it. I understand know what that's like because I bought the car in 2006 and just got around to replacing it 7 years later. I figured it was a good time to do it since I have the fuel tank off. Here's some pics.

Finally finished what was to be a rather simple job, replacing the cam plugs (a known problem on 87's). Engine had low oil pressure at idle, and when I got the cam covers off I found one plug had warped\split and fallen out into the oil galley in the head. Getting the cam covers off was fun- snapped one bolt clean off, then stripped one of the cam bridge bolts . Lots of dremeling and screw extraction. Of course couldn't stop there, I painted the covers, and then replaced all engine bay fuel lines w/ Roger's kit. Some of the lines were very brittle and cracking. Then removed injectors and sent out to Witchhunter for cleaning. I cleaned the MAF using the special spray, then cleaned all bolts and crap that I could. Jesus, it was one hard job that I really underestimated... but fired it up and everything is great. Idles and revs very smooth now. Oil pressure great. Now my intake looks like crap, but that is a job for another day (week!). I just didn't have the time or cajones to tackle it yet.

I'm not sure the car is lowered, or an illusion due to 18 inch rims getting close to the lip of the rear wheel arch. Putting it up on ramps the front spoiler always drags on the right side sllightly and I think that side seems slightly lower, but the PO had to replace the front left tire while the right is worn and will be replaced this spring. So I'm waiting for new tires to make some measurements.

Finished refurb and dyeing of passenger seat and swapped out old for "newerish" refurb seat. Dyeing is surprisingly easy with great results. Driver seat is next but is currently getting some new leather panels.

Fuel Pump, In-Tank Pump Delete
Finally finished External Fuel Pump, Filter and In-Tank Pump delete. I followed Dwayne's excellent instructions which were perfect except that my car had gobs of dirt and Dwayne's cars are always spotless before and after. Be prepared for lots of dirt. Due to rust and grit I had to dremel off all hose clamps despite multiple PB Blaster baths.
Also, dropped the fuel tank for inspection after seeing a batch of cracked tank stories here. No cracks! I did replace the large and small vent hoses while in there.
The new fuel pump is silent compared to the previous unit which sounded like whirling gravel, especially on hot days. This being my first 928 I had no idea how abnormal the noisy pump was and lived with it for 3+ years. Amazing it lasted as long as it did.

I finally started prepping for the engine-ectomy on the GT. I plan to drop it out the bottom so as to not have to remove the headers in situ (PITFA!)
Radiator and fans are out, AC is disconnected, clutch is out, starter is out. Tomorrow if time allows I will drop the rack, separate the bell housings, and begin to disconnect the cross member from the car,
By the way, the short shaft shows very little wear for a nearly 600 hp engine.
