So what did you do to your 928 Today......

Continued working on cleaning up the wiring for the front lights, ordered LED replacements for front turn signal (along with resistors) and front side markers.
Got some bits from 928Intl today from their holiday sale (metal cover strips at the top of the front & rear bumper). Sanded off any paint chips/rough spots, cleaned and applied my first few coats of black spray paint. Ditto the metal frame for the radiator fan. The frame mounts and fan itself (after covering the motor) shall follow the same fate.
A bunch of really small things, but added up makes it feel like I'm making progress.

Burning Brakes
Took off both front shelves and the console side panels, installed a vintage Alpine 7909J head unit. Lots of work left to do on the installation, but it functions beautifully and sounds amazing.

Picked up my Powder coated crossmember, skid plates, and motor mounts. Started to re-assemble some of the items prior to install back on the car. Still need to put the proper torque on the silicon OPG, then put back the crossmember and start the re-assembly process.

I got the title in the mail from the PO and used engine cleaner for a second effort at cleaning the grit and crud of the engine. cleaned off my work bench and workshop in preparation for the teardown.

Just backed her out of the garage so I can sweep floors and ready her for Jack stands. Awaiting the arrival of a Tie rod assembly package from Rog in the next few days.

teardown continues
removed oil pan. no metallic bits in sump or strainer above. removed cam assembly and head from other side. I bought this car being told that the engine had seized. thus far, cylinder bores show no marking or scoring, crank turns smoothly. I'll take some head pictures for the "before" before I send them to my machine shop for inspection.
Case and crank go there next.

Drifting
Reinstalled the CE panel (after replacing burned fuse holders and contacts, and applying DeoxIt everywhere). Then connected the harness of the new Apline CDE-HD148BT to the factory harness and RCA cables going to the big Kenwood amp in back. I bought the Alpine because it has a 9-band EQ, but I was blown away by how substantially improved the sound is straight out of the box with no adjustments. Looking forward to tuning it in.
