A -g- Does **** retentive have a hyphen? Same question for you Lego.

Regardless. I think that the term Atom bomb, is in fact not misleading. I can't think of anyone who equates atomic weaponry with chemical weapons. My point in the orginial comment was that they were almost as devestating, and much more brutal than firebombing. I can't say that they were aimed at purely civilian targets, because there were none at that time, in Japan.

Sure we've done some questionalble things. But I think it's the equivalent of comparing one kid who taunts his brother and the evil bastard ( 12 or 13) who chained his brother to a radiator and raped him. No one is perfect, but that doesn't give the truly evil people of this world, like the bastard who ordered the planes flown into the world trade center, a pass. They have to be dealt with.

The problem with disliking the pols like that is that we (and by that Imean those of you who vote, I don't because I realize the futility of it) put them there, and once again, it's a matter of people not respecting others opinions. It's the one issue voters that are ruining this country. The President, -should- be an adminstrator, he shouldn't drive issues or positions. All of the basic laws should be voted on by the people. It's a bit cumbersome and imperfect, and that why the House and Senate were created, but obviously that doesn't work.

"Live free or die!"

To bad the state isn't like that anymore. To many Massholes moving up here. The Libertarian party was thinking of moving like 30,000 members here to try to swng the votes. Might have fixed things.

Not that I'm a libertarian, but at least they wouldn't allow a lot of the stiff that's going on ever here to happen.

I am sorry but not voting since its "futile" disqualifies anyone from complaining about anything that goes on. As futile as it may seem, its the only way the democratic (or republic) way can work. As far as civilian targets are concerned, the financial institutions are the root of all evil according to the "terriorists" so to them it may not be seen as "civilian" since these "civilians" fund Israel as far as they are concerned.

Once again Lego. Opinions diffrer.

I say, you played the game, you got what the game gave you. Therefore you can't complain. I didn't agree to accept the rules, therefore I can.

Lets see if I can say it better.

The rules were set out. You vote whoverer gets the most votes win. In addition, there are a bunch of procedural rulees as to who can run, what they can do how they can campaign. By voting you have done the equivalent of hitting the "I Agree" button at the end of one of those long license agrements. Therefore you agree with the outcome, whatever it may be. You oaid your money, you took your chances.

I read the agreement, I didn't like it so I want something better.

Also, its awfully arrogant to think the rest of the world is wrong and we are right. That would imply they are all stupid and its the reason why we are seen as ignorants. There is a reason(s) why the majority didn't support the U. S. sending troops and invading Iraq.

Well, then whatever comes happens according to your philosophy. Whether or not we like the game, we are all in it. These are the rules and change it if you don't like it- which is to vote. I am outta here to eat my beef noodle soup riding my GSXR 750 down the street in this great country of ours with faults like any other country. Have a great weekend.

Maybe you aren't alking abut me, but if you are, where did I say that? My beliefs are Quite the opposite actually.

I would differ that it isn't the majority that were against it, more the vocal minority.

As I said in another thread long ago. I talked with an Iranian businessman who is only upset because we haven't invaded Iran yet.

Oh no?

It's the single most generous country this world has ever known. Bar none.

IMHO, lots of people think that freedom is not a right, it's a dare.

Wicked951, here's some friendly advice: If you feel you have to say something publicly that you know will be outragously unpopular, balance that desire to speak your mind with your own need for public support. If you drive a Porsche and you need an online community to provide you with help, you might want to be careful not to offend that community. Or just ask the Dixie Chicks about freedom of speech. Or Thumper from the Disney movie Bambi. I'm sure most of us have opinions that we know need to be kept under our hat.

Even with all it's faults, where would the world be without the USA?

Eating sushi Struedel for one thing.

And wearing Sampan hats with Liederhosen.

But on the flips side, I don't think Michael Bolton would have been able to continue with his particular brand of evil.

Although it would be vastly different and nothing we could imagine, the world did exist for a very long time before the US, and will exist for a long time after it.
