I would paint the case bright red or yellow or something, just so you don't mix it up with other DME relays

Alignment and corner balance new Sachs shocks and new tires. An impact and PB blaster got those rear eccentrics loosened.

Does anyone have a pic of the stock, complete battery cables (preferably from a 951)? From each battery terminal, to where each wire terminates

A kit would be nice for most I guess but having now closely examined the whole shebang, you could build one yourself for under $30.
The only part that would possibly need to be reused would be the 2-pin connector with the blue alternator wire and the red/black starter ignition switch wire. Or just cut the body side too, and put a different 2-pin connector on.

The alternator->starter wire is generously 4ft long and is probably 8 gauge with 5/16 ring terminals at either end. Same size/length for the ign switch->starter wire.
And the blue alternator wire is smaller than 16ga and is probably 4ft from alternator to 2-pin plug.

(this is how the early car is set up, I don't know if the late is the same way)

I have a `like new' used battery harness that is sitting in my garage - I will take a pictures with measurements this afternoon.

I don't recall if it was 951 specific, but the intent is to install it in my 951.

Awesome. You don't need to take precise measurements for me, though. I'm just trying to get a ballpark quote from a company to replicate it using the best modern materials

As mentioned, I bought these used off ebay, so I'm assuming they're OEM - PET catalog part 944.612.027.00
8" short negative to battery box ground
31" negative to bellhousing
71.75" positive to starter

Hang on... negative to bellhousing?
Must be a late car thing?

My car has the 8" battery to chassis cable, but then another, separate 8-10" exposed braid ground from firewall to BH.
