I ran a few run groups on mid Ohio, MOR PCA hosted a great event. Open passing saved my pride as I had a lot of fun running off line to let the race cars and everyone else past. Hello Scot A, a fellow blue 89 951 owner.

I've done a few odd jobs this week. My headlights haven't sat properly flush since the repaint so sorted that out and with the help from my assistant I've investigated why my left windscreen washer and under bonnet light haven't worked since the repaint. The wiring looks like it was cut when the bonnet was removed and then clumsily spliced back together.

I also tidied up my old battery earth

And reglued a bit of foam that fell off.

I changed my warning lights to LED and my LED bulbs and reflector tunnels to Perry951's LED kit. Unfortunately I ran out of time during re-assembly and only got 2 of the LED moulded pieces going but with 2 going it throws out more light than 3 LED bulbs in the old tunnels did. I suspect the middle one isn't making good contact in the bulb socket holder.

That little plastic canister to the left of the battery is a filter for the battery gases. It was during this job I noticed the hose from the battery to the canister was missing. I still have to research the fix. PET isn't too helpful when it comes to RHD specific stuff.

The top of your canister has an attachment for the tube to battery that has broken off on yours. It comes up from that hole and then goes at a right angle parallel to top of canister, pointing at the battery. I can take a pic and shoot it to you via messenger if you want Jae, just let me know

It's all good, thanks. I pulled it when i got home from work tonight. Thought it was a filter worth replacing, but its just a type of reservoir. I think the shop who did my conversion must have taken the battery out to charge it and has lost the elbows and hose it's there in older photos I have of my car with this battery.

On the way to replacing my oil pan gasket, I replaced the rod bearings on my '88 944 which has 67000 miles.
Not sure if these are considered good or bad, but there are clear wear marks and some variation in the surface can be felt. So I'm happy that I'm replacing them.

Replaced the motor mount on the passenger side while working on the oil cooler reseal. Completely destroyed. It was a super easy job with the manifolds removed and engine bar supporting from above. Easy adjustment to remove and realign the main engine support that way.

Got the cooler all squared away and back together, now need to replace driver side mount.

Here's what it looked like.

Drove it 30 miles from old house to new house.
Slightly wet roads so some unexpected wheel spin when giving the 2.9 some throttle

Installed new hood struts, hatch struts.
Sanded and repainted all 3 wiper arms and installed new wipers.
Painted screw heads for the armrest, and installed the new clock!

Oh no- new hatch struts risk delaminating your hatch glass from the frame! Perhaps you used a lower powered strut? It is a known failure point that new struts may result in delamination.

After the school run i saw this 911 in the grocery store parking lot. I had to stop and snap a couple of pics with our 944. I hung around as long as I could hoping to meet the driver but no luck.
