When you get this spoiler installed, I would love to see a few pics and hear your impressions of the installation.

installed the only944 short shifter (that I bought 5 years ago) and put the transmission back into the car.
first time using an actual transmission jack, i'm a believer now.

shifter's back in, exhaust bolted back to headers.

need to flush brake fluid, install intake manifold, hook up harness and a handful of other things and might be able to start it up this week.

Thanks Spencer. The door pull is from a VW Karman Ghia I bought from JBugs. I fabricated a bracket attached to the door for the backside of the arm rest to slip over because the arm rest isn’t designed to be bolted to the door.

Smile Rear Hatch Struts

Changed rear hatch struts to less stiff ones to prevent separation of the glass from the frame. Real easy fix for this common problem.😀

Default Tie rods etc

Finally got around to installing new tie rods/boots and new steering rack bushings. Already did the sway bar mount and end bushings and rennbay ball joints. Steering should be nice and tight now! Next on the list are new tires/alignment. Any recommendations on tires? Running stock Fuchs on my 86 951.

Built a shroud to replace my dying fans on my '83. This 12" Spal delivers 1870 cfm so should handle things for a while but even this is only temporary. I still need to fit it up and see if it works but if it fits, should provide much more cooling than the one fan that was "working" but made a ton of bearing noise.

very cool, i did something similar a while back.

FYI, the stock fans are easily rebuildable.
this link is labeled 928 but the motors are the same - i have done it, total cost per motor is about $3...

CR Radiator, Indianapolis can supply fan shroud with 2 fans with side air vent release for racing application.
I purchased a special order design after providing dimensions. The 944 OEM fan blades from used parts are brittle and probed to fracture at the hub

Hmm, good to know. Although I suspect part of the problems I am having are related to 37 year old resistors/relays/wiring. Admittedly, fixing the OEM stuff would be wise but this is temporary and I'll be wiring this independent of the OEM circuitry. Nothing I'm doing is irreversible so at least I should be able to drive the car without overheating until I finish devising a plan on what to do with it in regards to rebuilding/restoring. My 83 only has 90k miles on the chassis but a lot of things need to be addressed so I'm working on the economics(lol) of just stripping it for a track/street build or something else.

When I had a big single fan, I added a new big power wire direct to battery and a relay. The relay got just ziptied to the fan shroud.

The big power wire ran to the relay and then to the big fan motor.
The stock Porsche fan wiring was used (with some jumper wires) only to trigger the relay.
The fan motor got grounded to the chassis right there.

So the stock wiring only saw like 1/10 amp and the big fan was still controlled exactly like stock but was able to eat a full 30A when needed via the new dedicated power wire.

Yeah, this beast requires a 60A relay so no way the stock wiring will handle the requirements.

Look around the internet (or your local junkyard) for the fan relay out of a 1990s Ford Contour.
It's a standard shape relay, usually black or green, but rated for 70A. The power contacts are 3/8" rather than 1/4" like normal.

That's what I used for mine.

actually here they are for cheap new
