Removed oil cooler but the element is stuck in there. Just cranking away at it. A bit later safely removed the element and the oil cooler housing. It wasn't mixing oil and coolant but it was leaking oil like a sonofagun. Replacing seals as necessary.

It was finally time to replace the stock exhaust system. The catalytic converter was shot and several cracks had been welded over the last couple of years. So, I upgraded to a Lindsey 3" exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler and race cat. Also installed the wastegate shims that I've had sitting around for 7 years! I love the new sound, it reminds me or that great exhaust note on old British sports cars. The bum-o-meter says it's added power, especially in the midrange.
One thing to note, the 3" Lindsey system was a royal PIA to install and required a number of modifications.

Been a super long winter in Chicago, and S2 cab has been hibernating since November. Can't wait for the first drive again. But first, I need to replace the slave cylinder.

Thanks a nice day here (+6C) I was able to start my '87 924s on the first try and move it from our now sold house to a temporary storage site. Next it's off to Vaughan, ON to pick up a DirectLift 4 poster. Our new spot doesn't have much garage width or length but it does have a 12' ceiling.

Well, as I just got it, I have a list of to-do's, many of which gone done over the last 2 days.
As follows -
-removed gauge cluster and 'rechromed' triangle reflectors and replaced the 3 main bulbs (much better clarity at night now!)
-replaced uber old Pioneer cassette deck and 6 cd changer with new head unit and 4 X 6's in the doors (yes, there are ones that fit - and sound much better)
-replaced rubber/plastic outer door handle gaskets with fresh new black ones!
-new front pads and rotors...though I should have scuffed the rotors as they are squealing when applied...any advice at this point?
-shampooed oem floor mats. I can actually read 'turbo' in them now!
-went over entire car and touched up small chips with testors model paint
-tightened all random (visible) philips head screws in cabin...many were loose!
-took plastic polish and 'Back to black' on appropriate exterior trim
-painted all 20 aluminum (?) lug caps/nuts as they were all tired looking/scratched
-again, took some silver testors model paint to the phone dials to touch up a few nicks
-attempted to get to rear speakers to potentially replace them...but got discouraged when I realized what they say is true...they are a pain in the *** to get to unless you either remove the rear side window, or risk tearing the vinyl tucked under the molding...no thanx
That's about it! Productive 2 days, I'd say!
What to do next......
