Unit are always loaded with maps from factory.
Depending on production date they might be quite old 😉.

Managed to get everything sorted per the thread and now I’m up and running. Installed a GPS antenna today just behind the sport chrono clock and updated the maps. Thanks again for all the work put into this!

That's great news, so did you update to the 2021/22 NAR maps as well?

like some are reporting, mine too had the 20/21 maps loaded but I went ahead and updated them anyway since I prepped the SD card.

Did you buy the OEM GPS antenna? If you can provide a link for it, that would be great info for others. I will be helping another member with this and need to confirm if the cluster coding is already there.

I did not. I went with the option that others suggested. I plugged directly into the PCM without issue. I’ve also test Porsche Track Precision App on “free drive” and it seems to perform with out issue. Below is the GPS receiver I went with.

Anyone in the DFW tried this yet? It would be cool to see the differences in person....

Curious, what differences were you hoping to see? When done in it entirety the end result will be the same as a car where this all was done at the factory.

@West Coast is right. There should not be any differences

I just want to see what it looks like - I had it on my 981s, but didn't order Navi on the Spyder. This PCM is better than the one in the 981, but only marginally so, from a holistic perspective.

I'm not a tech / coding person either, so trying to determine if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Well, free juice!
What more do you want

Looks like any stock Navigation/CarPlay/AndroidAuto/RacingApp.
Visit next dealer and let them show you!

I've loaded all the files with the SD cards, only to find I don't have a GPS antenna, I thought carplay meant the antenna was present. I've ordered one, can you give me any tips on removing the clock panel ? I just don't want to break anything in getting it out. Thanks.

Its held in by clips. As long as you have a proper trim pry tool it will pop out with ease. I inserted my trim tool at the 5 o’clock position and gently applied pressure. It popped out without issue.

Clock panel? What GPS did you order? Not the Porsche one?
