So you had NAV added after delivery by the dealer?

Regarding NAV in the 4.5" TFT, you sound like you don't believe us!

Compass, Altitude Meter and Auto Time Sync are added to the cluster selection with PIWIS.

yeah bought it this April and carmax said it had nav so they paid a dealer 7k for nav and windshield.

haha I just want to be sure. Coming from Audis and VWs everything on the Boxster seems to have a caveat, just seemed too easy 😂

thank you all for doing this and sharing.

I was an unbeliever, everything I'd read said it couldn't be done, then 718socal proved it could. I not only now believe, I'm a beneficiary of his pioneering work.

718socal also helped me out fixing a weird disappearing issue. Now I need to solve the mystery of the greyed-out auto time control!

Question; ... how does "automatic time zone sync become active?

Is it just a matter of adding Auto Time Sync to the cluster selection with PIWIS?

Where did you guys get your cables? I tried an online search and didn't come up with anything.

I ordered this one to try, https://www.ebay.ca/itm/263698559339. it's straight on both ends so it might not work on the PCM end, we'll see.

** EDIT - this not the correct type of cable - don't order **

That is a GPS cable (Fakra "Z" Male to Male RG174 Cable) not the LVDS cable...

It is a Porsche part, did you try a Porsche online parts web page?

How about this: Genuine Porsche 9P3-979-001 |Connecting Line | FREE Shipping on Most Orders $499+ OEMG! | GetPorscheSilverSpringParts

There is a setting in the cluster (Kombi) called GPS Urhzeit. Screen shot below. You have to add the NAV option in PIWIS and Auto Code the cluster (Kombi) module.

Westcoast, Thanks for the heads up. The ebay picture shows the same connector on both ends, is the picture is wrong? I thought RG174 referred to the wire not the connectors.

The description appears to match the picture, male at both ends, spec'd as a RG174 cable for GPS... I thought that you were looking for the LVDS cable between the cluster and the PCM?
