Speaking of the "latest method", I'm assuming that once Nav, CP and AA is activated that there is no real reason to "update" by doing it again with a later MIB build. Correct?

For the most part you could say "if it is working as you need it, no need to touch".

What the AIO also does is update the PCM firmware to: MHI2_US_POG11_K5186_1

I don't know what the latest method is. I just used the one detailed in this DIY.

You did it the hard way 😁. AIO is a lot easier. I am glad that it is working for you 👍

Latest would be this: https://mibwiki.one/share/30b7c0f9-a...1-20f4309ef4bb

FW update magically doing all the patching and more during install.
And yes, it even starts to install automatically after putting SD into unit

Is it worth going ahead and doing that on top of what I did the "hard way"?

also, Reading the link above, I’m guessing since my Bose still has audio I didn’t break anything?

Essentially if you run AIO now all you will be doing is updating the firmware of the PCM, functionality stays the same.

As for BOSE unless you make changes to the AIO file it will not touch the BOSE system.

ok, last dumb question. is there any benefit to updating? any improvements?

also I'd really love to find that download speed fix thing. the link is dead in the link above.

thanks

All electronic manufactures that use firmware will release updates for bug fixes and improvements, sometimes there are functional changes other times not. I don't have the release notes for changes between versions so I can't tell you what the firmware changed.

Download speed fix?

On the page above it said there was something to help with DL speed of the maps. I tried to 8 hours yesterday to get the maps, only made it to 5gb before it just quit.

Ahh yes, I messed with that a bit but doing it the hard way (trying to copy the URL and add it). So I downloaded and installed the Download manager, added the browser extension to Edge... on the MIB download section of interest simply highlight the file of choice and then hit the download button, the Download manager will resolve the URL and automatically add it to the managed list.

There are no official change list for FW updates.
General functionality is the same.

More like nice to have if everything is working fine for you as it is.

Thanks for all of this. I got the manager working in my extensions in Chrome. And yes, everything is working fine for me now so I'll not mess with it.

Did you install the maps?
