For the cluster, you are basically adding the NAV option and Automatically Coding all the settings in all the modules. It does it automatically for you. If you can find someone with PIWIS, that should not take long. As for the other stuff, if you do it once, its not that bad 😁.
So...if I have the cable to connect the cluster to the PCM, he could possibly code it so the map-in-cluster feature would also work? Forgive me if I'm overly simplistic, as I've said programming is a dark science to me.

My 2018 Cayman Base came with Connect and wired CarPlay, but not Nav. I used the MIB process to activate both Nav and wired Android Auto, then updated the maps to current. I did not care about connecting the cluster, so no need for PIWIS. Works great.

I first added the NAVI to VO and Automatically coded all the modules.
Most of the PIWIS coding is done in Kombi to enable all the menus and settings in the instrument cluster.
If I use the MIB tool and remove one feature like Tel or LTE, the PIWIS will not see the head unit module. The diagnosis Variant will display ZR_INVALID.
