I would caution anyone buying this. In the short time I had it, It was in the shop for about 6 weeks of that ownership.

It had many issues that have a couple of threads here but in a nutshell

1. Check engine light for a cooling fan that didnt come on. It's a software issue but it needs to be 'active' for them to do the update. (showed up again later)

2. 2x suspension clunk that does it both when it's hot and cold weather wise, even/uneven pavement,,etc. sounds like something is loose. (they ended up replacing the tie rod bushings and pad under the gas tank)

3. "no video imput" from the nav/map into the main cluster (never solved - I didn't want them to crack the dash open)

4. alignment issues were the caster would not align correctly (Car had issues being aligned. All in all, it was on the rack 3, maybe 4 times.

5. replaced all four rotors and pads for excessive brake noise that exceeded a db level set by the factory. (replaced within 3 days of ownership)

6. tire failure on driver rear tire. was a structural failure and not a puncture or due to a object strike. (not the car issue but suspect it was from the car sitting with the PO's)

7. A/C stopped working due to it freezing up.(know issue but annoying nonetheless)

8. Cooling fans / overheating issue (This one was the final draw for me. Fans stopped all the sudden and the temps shot up. When I picked it up, they said the code for the fan's was "missing" and they reflashed. I don't know what that means but It sounded like a poor excuse from issue #1 noted above)

The car was a certified CPO but I quickly learned that means really nothing. I did contact Porsche to see if a master tech could review the systems and that was in process but I was told it would take "weeks" and since I could not depend on driving it long distances, I traded it back in. Mind you, this was not an easy decision as I lost about 15K in the deal from purchase to trade in.
And the Carfax shows one service entry. Yikes.

These cars? Yes. That car? The owner said it had a ton of issues and yet only one service entry on Carfax. Demonstrates how valuable Carfax really is.

Thanks for posting about this car. Can you talk about how you ended up losing 15k in the trade? Did you pay an ADM?

Wow, I am sorry that happened to you! Good for you for sharing for us here, that was VERY thoughtful of you!

I was just searching for a used Spyder (per my posts above, and offering my GT4 on order for sale), and found one this week that I am proceeding on purchasing, a 2021 Manual with about 2K miles on it, also a CPO car. GT Silver with the Spyder Classic Interior.

I hope I make out better than you did! This is my first used Porsche. I do worry about cars that have been just parked for a long time without being driven too much...

A car is used as soon as it's driven off the lot. If you've owned a Porsche, then technically you've owned a used Porsche.

Another way to look at it- would you feel confident if you were they buyer of one of your previous Porsches?

One guy's ****ty experience is not an indictment on the concept of buying used.

Also- if it's considered a "deal" to get a used BGTS 4.0 at MSRP, then I should definitely put my car up for sale.

Well it’s been sold CPO twice, so full servicing at both of those.

This is especially concerning, and may suggest some undisclosed damage/accident with the previous owner.

I thought about that but was assured there wasn't. I still have a strong suspicion it was an abused track car

Was it sold privately?
