I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's completely not true. No business is going to sell volume cars they lose money on. Porsche had record revenues last year, even with fewer cars delivered. They're not losing money on any of them.

Price raised on this guy (CAD). Not sure it’ll sell at this level but the dealer lowered their prices temporarily to get a few CPOs out and then raised them back.

I am not sure they will sell every 718 EV in its first MY unless its production number is really low. People were up in arms when they went from Flat6 to Flat4T despite latter's performance advantage. EV is an even greater departure from that. EV fans love EV commuters, like the Macan. Most sports car fans have not warmed up to EV sports cars yet. The GT car prices are so high because of FOMO. I don't get the sense many people are setting their money aside and/or making room in their garage to prepare for a 718 EV purchase.

We agree on the 20k units part. The subsequent question then becomes if they fall well short of that, are they going to delay the EV launch to a later MY, or make ICE alongside it, or just let the production/sale number slide in MY25? (They delivered 20.5k 718 in 2021 worldwide). My take is that the GT4 and Spyder will continue production for MY24 and quite possibly beyond.

If any manufacturer can sell what they make Porsche is the one that will continue to do it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s similar or the same as the 4.0 in the 718s.

I also saw the same rumor, but there was some spy shots that captured the digital dash with a 6500rpm redline, and a boost gauge. Not sure if that was done on purpose by Porsche though to throw the dogs off the scent, as it is only a digital gauge.
