Downmarket GT3?

Performance wise I’d be surprised if it surpassed current base/T. The small bump in HP is outweighed by the much larger area under the torque curve of the turbo.

More emissions with the 4.0 motor also.

The downmarket GT3 is the GTS

I think the point is that it would differentiate the T a bit more, and add an affordable NA option to the 911 lineup. While we're dreaming, I'm going to pretend it has the 6-speed, too.

Yes the Carrera T is sort of meant to be the stripped out "driver's car" lightweight offering. Less sound deadening, thinner glass, optional buckets. Whatever they do. So it's meant to be a bit of the "driver oriented" lower range 911 vs just dentist spec. So I don't think it's wrong to look at it as sort of a downmarket GT3.

Bit of a stretch to call a car without the motor, transmission, suspension, aero, or mechanical grip of a GT3, an anything GT3.

The Carrera T is a downmarket Carrera S. In other words, a lightened base Carrera.

BGTS hit RNM at $10K under MSRP.

Another data point of a softening market.

This makes me happy. The 4.0 718s should be accessible to enthusiasts without paying over for a used car. Let it keep coming down.

That's less than 10% depreciation for a two owners, two years old, questionable-speced car, I wouldn't call this reassuring :\

I would say winter as convertibles don't sell well in January.

What's wrong with the spec though?

Looks to be an excellent GTS spec if you ask me.

Why? If the market demands more than what can be produced why does Porsche “have to” do anything. These are all toys that nobody needs. I don’t think the words accessible and Porsche need to, or should, go hand in hand.

Do you really think the limiting factor is the demand or Porsche themselves deliberately limiting the production of sought after models? I strongly believe Porsche builds less than demand for most models like GT’s on purpose, rather than building less base models and more GT’s.

I don't think that perception holds up. For example, @Lucifer has a thread on here showing that they actually build more GT4s and Spyders than CGTS and BGTS
