You mean open the top? Correct? I thought you said you can close your top with touch control. Also do you think I need to change the above code to yes?
It may be warm enough this weekend for me to test this. Let's hope the forecast doesn't change.
I think you should ask that question in the 718 forum coding thread. The screen that you are showing is from your
X431 not PIWIS. Good luck
Anyone know what changing this setting to yes does? I have entry and drive but this setting is set to no.

Okay, just check=ed my car again (its on the hoist for winter) and there does seem to be a 2nd sensor that detects the hand behind the door handle so I would think that it may be possible to code the top to open from door handle. Let us know if you figure it out.
I did post this same question on the 718 forum. However, I was hoping that someone on this forum could help me.
According to google translate the code in German would be as follows: 981 Verdeckcodierungen Berührungssteuerung
I did not see this code in any of the pictures from a PIWIS on this forum.
I found the PIWIS code for 981 Soft Touch Codings - Touch Control that I previously inquired about. It is 981_Verdeckcodierungen Tippbetrieb (see the circled item on the attached). Anyone know what changing this code from no to yes does?

Interesting. This literally translates to Inching Mode. I was gonna code this and try. Good find 👍

Thank you. I didn't see it at first because google translate says it means jog operation but then I notice that this same word is used in the code regarding whether the windows are up or down. Let me know what you find.
I thought the term "inching mode' meant that for a single press of the button a pulse is then sent for a single action, as when you press a button to open a garage door, a command goes out to open/close the door, no need to hold the button in the on position until it closes?

If you are referring to one-touch operation of the convertible top, I would love to figure out how to code one-touch operation, if possible. I have seen posts that suggest that it is likely possible since the Smart Top has this feature, and the Smart Top is only sending codes that the car already understands.

Do you currently have to hold the button to open/close the top? I remember that there are some settings for the windows to open halfway or full in PIWIS. Nothing for the top. It could be the Inching Mode or TSZ settings. 🤔
According to the owner's manual, you have to press and hold the button to open the top. I never noticed this before (or tried it) but it says if the car is moving more than approx 10 kph (6 mph) and less than approx 50 kph (30 mph), the top opens automatically. I wonder if this setting could be changed to provide that the top opens automatically even if the car is stationary (i.e., lower the 10 kph (6 mph) threshold to 0). What is the TSZ setting you are referring to?
I don't think there is an inching mode. I think this is just a mistranslation. On my X431 it is being translated as touch control (which makes more sense). The term Tippbetrieb is also used in the setting for the windows. This has to mean touch control, which is the third way of opening the top in addition to the bed switch in the car and the key fob/remote control. The three settings for the windows are Bed Schlter (the bed switch in the car), Fernbedienung (the remote control/key fob) and Tippbetrieb (touch control/door handles).
Are you saying this is the setting for one-touch operation of the convertible top? If so, are you saying to change it to halfway?
Also what is the code two below (which I marked in red) for vrdecksteuerung fur cabrio which translates to front deck control for convertible?
No that is the One Touch operating the windows when you press and hold the button on the driver side windows switch.. What you circled in Red translates to Convertible top control for convertible. I don't think there is a button for the top there. I would think this would be in the BCM and not the Door module.

Lower speed limit to open the top. How can you open the top with Touch Control at 10 km/h? This has to be the button operation
