I wonder if wrapping the OAP with heat wrap like this would provide more insulation than having the pipe Jet Hot coated

The goal isn’t necessarily more, it’s “sufficient”. What I’ve heard of Jett Hot satisfied me.

Ya, that’s what I was wondering. Once you take the wheels off there’s pretty good access to do the wrap (not sure how you’d start and stop the wrap). There’s no way I”m taking mine off for a few track days a year, but a wrap I do myself might be worth a shot.

Problem with wraps is moisture gets trapped underneath, thus encouraging corrosion. I tried wrap on my motorcycle headers years ago and despite being quality $$$ wrap, it only lasted 12 months and left permanent stains on the metal. Also, with the Kline, you will struggle to wrap the resonator section.

Best option post-purchase is to get ceramic coating such as JetHot, inside and out.

Spyder at the track with inconel. Not sure if this is a forum member or now. It sounds really good to me! I’ve got a track day booked at Area 27 for August, and I’m looking forward to an experience like this (but slower lol as I’m a noob).

Thanks for sharing, the driver is brave and obviously has some track time, not sure that I would have been pushing it that hard on a wet track and with both ESC and TC off... there was some decent sliding going on there!

That was a great clip! The exhaust sounds amazing - I can’t wait to get mine in. And the driver definitely knows how to use these machines.

Inconel is great if your car is a show pony, but for serious track work my experience (having cracked an Inconel exhaust myself) is exotic metals have real downsides. The level of heat and repeated cycling means they are more prone to cracking, which is exacerbated by the reduced thickness. I have seen JCR titanium exhaust tips literally split in half on a GT3. Not saying that would necessarily happen here, and Kline by all accounts seems very well made. However I went for SS with heat shielded OAP's for this reason, as suddenly finding a crack 1 day into a 3 day track weekend would suck. I also know first hand that SS can potentially also fail after repeated cycling, this happened to a stock header on my 981 GT4. The subsequent heat did approx $10k of damage and 2+ months are Porsche getting fixed (luckily under CPO). So moral of the story is anything can break when driven hard, but I feel SS still has the durability head start. Cant wait for it to arrive now and get it on! The stock exhaust is inaudible.

Formula One "show pony" exhausts are made from Inconel...because Inconel is known for its strength and high melting point which also makes it popular in the aerospace industry. Inconel is also often used in nuclear reactor cores too. Would you consider your own “track work” more demanding than that of the entire field of Formula One cars?

I had, and have, no need for the inconel at (approaching) double the cost of stainless. I'm super happy with the stainless system and feel it's the best exhaust solution available for my goals, budget and desire for a blended tone. I've had the system on now for a few months and I now simply associate that sound with my car, it feels natural.

I am just speaking from experience having owned one. It cracked at the welds, and was an absolute PITA to get fixed because its a very difficult metal to work with and most places don't have the expertise. All choices have their pro's and cons, I am giving a different perspective.

Have not had any issues with my Kline Inconel so far. Who made the one where the welds cracked on yours?

BMW M performance, which I believe is made by Akrapovic. Chances are you wont have issues and enjoy the sweet sound of inconel, I could just of been unlucky.
