When I did the AKRA OAPs, I only lifted one side up at a time, because I didn’t have jacks readily available. You can do it either way, though I would lift both sides up to make access to the 4 bolts under the back box more accessible.

It took me roughly 3 hours with an adjustment issue for a bracket. That’s wheels up to wheels down using jacks and jackstands.

It’s a very straightforward install!

What did you do with your valves? OEM control? Collars? Plugged?
Start to finish about 3.5 hours and that’s because I had to get it on jack stands and installed the Verus diffuser panels to compensate for the aero changes of the exhaust.

Really easy compared to doing headers. I went ahead and did the caragraphic controller. Will play more with it tomorrow.

hahaha - I have also done many many exhaust swaps myself so I have the hang of it. Headers on my 981 GT4 was a huge pain though. That took me like 6 hours

Ah. So not jack stands... I'd be nervous getting under the car using just jacks.

I have a 4 post lift. So the rear box is essy with all wheels down. I'll prob just do one side at a time for the OAP's as I can get a jack stand under one rear side at a time if I lift from the same front jack point.

I’ll blame my “helper”… but in truth, I have not really wrenched on cars for a very long time and found the process rewarding no matter how long it took. The OAP to rear section bolts took me the most time, and that damn cross bar mount to the transmission.

No jack stands when I did the original OAPs bc I wasn’t under the car. I had jacks stands on both sides when I did the Kline install. The key is having the 1-2 sockets that are random for the install - I didn’t, but luckily my in house maintenance team did. You need 3-4 different sized socket/wrench sizes.

Don’t sweat it. If you already said to yourself “Im doing a DIY” then you will be successful- it’s not difficult, or a race. Soak the bolts that pair to the headers/oap with wd40 overnight - thats the only trick. Buy yourself something nice afterwards knowing you saved roughly 1/5th the cost of the exhaust (if SS) by installing on your own. Time is a factor, time is money, if you have both, you will enjoy the time you spent getting to know your car, and the money saved can be spent on more mods!

I remember this pic very well. There is no shame to the install game when you do things yourself, as long as this applies “all is well that ends well!”

My Pup is usually working side by side with me when Im wrenching, and always on my daily drives bc I take her to my office M-F. Life of a Dog Dad

After watching all of the YouTube videos featuring this exhaust I can say that none of them come close to representing the real tone, pitch, and volume of this exhaust. The videos are good, but real life is very different.

Thanks...
The question I was driving at was how to get jack stands on both sides? I've figured out how to get a jack stand on one rear side at a time, but not both.

I use the center jack point under the transmission, then jack up one front get the jack stand in the back on that side, then jack up the other front and put a jack stand on that side

One side at a time.
Whatever you did for one side is repeated on the other. I raise from the two front jacking points one at a time, then placing the jackstand under each rear jacking point.
I now use liftbars which simplifies everything.

I used liftbars do install my kline setup. Quicker and cheaper than a quickjack, and takes up a lot less room when not in use. I did have to get creative to get the tips lined up, as the right side was off center a little. Ended up loosening all the bolts, using a ratchet strap to pull it in place, then tightening it all.

In a positive note, it seems after 500 or so miles the exhaust seems to sound sharper than when first installed. Just keeps getting better and better!

Jackpoint (brand) jackstands are the solution to all the world's problems. It fits over your jack on the jack point and then you remove the jack and it is resting on a solid aluminum cone. I have a Quick Jack but I use my Jackpoint far more often.

A bit pricey but they seem to come up used quite often.
