Just to compare how loud a 4RS will be at 108dB, on the way to the grocery store just now my SPL meter and SPL app both showed 93dB max at WOT inside my car with the windows up. My 718 GT4 has Kline OAP and rear exhaust section. The 4RS is a screamer!

Maybe I’ll try my catless race header 981 GT4 and JCR Titanium 718 Spyder to see what I get this weekend.

Interested to see. I think the proximity of the intake tubes and resonance at 9K is going to sound very very loud in the RS. 108dB is going to sound significantly louder than my car at 93dB. I used the spl meter with my stereo at home and didn't dare go to 108dB even though my gear will do it. Comfortable music volume for me was 78dB.

I don’t think you’ve spent much time with an 88 db buzz right behind your head, which only gets louder for random intervals.
Only the hardest of hard cores will enjoy that amount of sound all the time, although many that paid a rear-end-load of cash for one will tell themselves (and others) they do.
At least two of the YT reviewers I watched reported having headaches when they were done with the test drive.
That is loud; not for the faint of heart, at least for very long. I doubt many of the big wallet types that bought them knew what they were getting. Folks on here, on the other hand, likely represent more than the normal percentage of hardcore types, and thus a higher % than the gen pop will enjoy the experience.

But that’s still dang loud.
Yeah, you'll get the guys who want the shiniest new toy for cars and coffee and those guys will hate the car. This car will be my track beast.
Same as the GT3 forum with people trying to add sound deadening I am sure this forum will overflow with people trying to quieten down their 4RS
I bet the resonance and dB volume will be a bit less without the carbon fiber airbox and intake tract thats part of the Weissach package.... But the take rate on the package will be incredibly high anyway.
(want a 'rare' GT4RS? Maybe order it without Weissach.... )
No amount of upgraded stereo is going to compensate with the "hardcore" NVH.
Don't forget the drone and the stiff suspension, once the honeymoon period wears out, these things will make you tired when you step out each and every time.

Curious as to why people believe this?
Does plastic some how offer some more sound deadening that Carbon Fiber, or perhaps does somehow sound passing through carbon fiber change its frequency or decibels?
Not GT4RS specific but I think it is also fun for us to watch the 992 GT3RS release at 5pm CET so for most of you early morning TODAY
Have a look: https://newstv.porsche.com/en/

I don’t believe there is any difference in sound or performance with the side scoop.

This isn't an early 2000's Evo 9 with an aftermarket exhaust. Modern cars don't have hardcore NVH and Porsche doesn't deliver a car to the public with drone. 2011 7.2 RS's where hardcore they had NVH. Sutcliff is pretty convinced it's just fine. See the back third of this video:
