When comparing the race cars, the intake sound of the new car (2022 982/718 GT4RS) with the new engine cover integrated into the plenum that comes from the quarter window is definitely about 10 - 15% louder than the previous generation car (2020 982/718 GT4 Clubsport) with the airbox in the rear hatch, most likely due to proximity of the throttle body to the driver's ear. HOWEVER...that car spun to 8000 RPM and this one goes to 11...i mean...8800 RPM which translates into a substantial increase in engine noise onboard!

I think your theory is right. You may want BOSE because it delivers better sound in the louder cabin. That said, in drive, loud button off and cruising I think the car will not be that loud. See Steve Sutcliff road test. I may have to sit in the car to get to Road America for 6 hours. I’m coming from a 7.2RS. That was loud.
This PDLS delete issue has now got me thinking that my build might be bloated.

Holy crap! The 4rs is 88 decibels in cruise mode?!?!? That is friggin loud. Except for track rats, 90% of people will hate this car. A lot.

I think it should be tolerable...I mean you are not going to be revving it up to 7-9k all the time if you're just driving it. Similar to EV cars like the Taycan. I had one for a weekend and had so much fun launch it until i started to get sick...LOL....but i'm sure if I had one I wouldn't be launching it at every lights ....
