I'm coming out with a engine bay / cabin divider mod for those who want to enjoy it on the street. Just drill a couple holes in the body work and the roof and good to go
This is mostly a track toy for me so I'm not worried about the noise level.
Please do not drill holes in the body work and the roof. This is unnecessary as attaching points for brackets that hold a foam and plexiglass engine bay / cabin divider may already exist as they do in the 987. I formed my brackets out of aluminum strip and only drilled holes in my aluminum brackets.
Curious as to why people believe this?
Does plastic some how offer some more sound deadening that Carbon Fiber, or perhaps does somehow sound passing through carbon fiber change its frequency or decibels?
carbon is stronger so generally will be thinner, and the material is more stiff
both significantly increase the natural/resonant frequency of the airbox and being lighter and thinner it has less mass to reduce noise
very similar to the effect of a titanium or inconel exhaust compared to steel
that said, to your point, it’s really not known how much impact it will have
The Bose stereo vs. loud interior discussion might now be moot, at least here in Canada. I just noticed that the Bose stereo has disappeared off of the configurator and neither is it in the standard feature list either.

Interesting. It’s still on the US configurator, for now.
Just remember that if you have a configuration locked in with your SA, then you should* be good with those options (bearing in mind any unforeseen supply issues). HOWEVER! if you change your configuration then you are subject to maybe lose something that you had optioned (based on how much Porsche has planned for). For example, PCCBs optioned. then you change the color of your car. then PCCBs are no longer available. you get screwed there. so just know that going into spec-ing and holding your spec until it freezes.
Your car was the 1st car I have ever ridden in that almost made me sick from noise. This from someone who ran the 2008 1Lap in a 6GT3 with bypass pipes, only cats for sound attenuation.
Its a tad hot in England (Europe) this summer. Air conditioner can't be run when using cameras to make YouTube videos because it drowns out the YouTubers' voices...apparently.
I believe you are correct with that about the dealers in Minnesota, your neck of the woods, but not the rest of the country @usctrojanGT3 has already posted several times that he gets his at MSRP. If there is one, there are more.
I have a 4RS with a December delivery I’m not a VIP and am paying MSRP. I will also get the 3RS and will only pay MSRP.
