I dunno, try short shifting out of T17 and into T1 and roll a bit more speed with foot on the floor while bouncing all over the place is easier for me. Easy to wack the lever right before T17 and back after T1.
It's Porsche being too cheap to create a proper console - the amount of plastic on my RS is embarrassing every time someone rides they ask what didn't you get as they read the slots.
The 2RS at 700hp when the 918 has 900hp - these cars are well engineered it's the 1000 hp Ford GT's Nitrous super charged and others that are dangerous.
700 hp is the league minimum at this level.

The Huracan Performante has 640hp, Aventator SV 750hp but weighs as much as a tank, the 488GTB has 660hp, the 675LT has 666hp, the 720S has 710hp. The 918 weighs 500lbs more than the 2RS and needs the power. And the 918 only makes 608hp on the gas engine. The GT2RS is going to be very fast and as everyone knows Porsches are the best at making the most of their "Rated" horsepower.

I think the same way, i put the 3RS in sport and let the angels sing and the magic happen as i destroy 98% of whats on the road!! Paddles are for looks and a way to change it up!! But your 100% correct, not necessary.

The 2RS will be a very powerful car. One that very few buyers will be able to handle. I would be very fearful/cautious being close to one on the road. Here is an example with a "measly" 991Turbo.

They just fixed my GT3, so I'll probably see you in CA. My wife's Cayenne got t-boned last week, so I was 3 for 3 broken Porsches for a few days - weird luck.
