Doesn't matter anyway if you can't buy one.

Three Wheelin'
Rohl likely would have driven the car before that video shoot anyway...
I went for a drive yesterday in the mountains and don't think I could use full throttle with 700 hp very much!!

Yeah, unless you want to go flying off a cliff. I think 700hp is a bit overkill for mountain road driving.

There are a couple of us tracking our 991 Turbo S models with FBO (intercoolers, exhaust, etc) upgraded 68mm turbos. I might be the only one doing it with all that plus meth injection. 800-850 HP crank. I'm doing it on an otherwise completely stock car on stock suspension and stock PZero N0 tires. Granted I don't like the way the suspension is a bit sloppy and the tires are no match for the brutal stopping power offered by the PCCBs (hence I can't threshold brake). I prefer tracking my 991 GT3 as it's more rewarding to get right but it's like slow motion compared to the Turbo S. I'd imagine the GT2RS is going to offer the brutal acceleration on tap of a modded Turbo S with the precision of the GT-cars. Looking forward to getting in one.

i happen to be working near the nurburgring this past week, today i happen to see a yellow GT2RS in person. I heard it pull up. Sounds pretty awesome in person. Looks exotic. First words that came out of my mouth. Super car / exotic. Not what you typically think of a 911.... those whom can get one congrats. I got close snapped a few pics. This was test mule 203.
Here it's in yellow - no longer need to fantasize w/ Photoshop
i have plenty more i 'll upload when i get back home next week.

Good question. First, I know enough not to go to full acceleration on cold tires.
Second, my initial point is whether we should require special training and licensing for people buying cars with this type of performance. Years ago, a young man walked into a Porsche dealership which had a CGT on the floor for sale. His family had money and he bought it on the spot. There is video of him driving off in the CGT losing control. He tried again and lost control again. Fortunately, he did not crash it or injure anyone.
The car was TOO much for him to handle. Later (I believe in a week) he turned the car back in.
He should have not been allowed to buy the car. For the safety of the public and him, he was over his head. The speechless reactions (I believe they were genuine and not a PR stunt) for Webber and Rhoel after driving the 2RS on the track should be a warning to all.

The trouble with catering for the lowest denominator (as per your cgt story) is that following that to it's logicall conclusion we should all be either banned from driving any cars and use driverless cars or we would be driving 50hp cars.
P.S you are joking if you truly believe that Webber and Rohrl were speechless due to finding the car difficult to drive. Webber was racing a LMP1 car only last year. that car has much more power than a gt2rs and weighs a hell of a lot less.
