Played with configurator a little, its about $306K if optioned just like my GT3RS.
That's $118K more..
I don't like any of the colors so it would be black / whitegold wheels making it 301K but still, good luck to the flippers making a quick buck and I guess that is the point made by Porsche and what we will have to pay for.
So $300K +++
I need a good think on that..

Needs big big tracks to really shine over the the 991rs. Vacuum sound is good here in Europe where all polar bear fans and treehuggers hate racetracks and anything over 95db.
I'm thinking about it. W package seems out of the question for me.

Slept on it.
It wasn't a fitful night's sleep LOL.
Heading over to Goodwood now to see it in the flesh.
It's 15-20% overpriced for what it is compared to other Porsche models but probably in line with other super cars.
$330K buys a lot of fast cars but none that I like taking to the track more then my GT3RS...
So even at this price it doesn't make it a terrible deal but for now it will hurt less if I can't get one.
Then there is the whole $100K+ price tag over buying a NA RS screamer or $150K over the GT3... and what about the upcoming 4.2L .2 GT3RS??
I'm not even 100% sure what I will like the 2RS better on track.
My RS doesn't suck, I don't even know if I can sell it to get a GT2RS before I track it.
I'm sure it will sound OK after I throw out all the mufflers and maybe I can learn to love a color they offer...
Can't wait to drive it :-)

Just wait until this car hits the Ring and throws up some killer numbers thanks to the aero, and everyone will be freaking out about it again.
All Weissach for me. Guess I'm waiting until April/May 2018, maybe longer if they allow me some PTS (Chartreuse).

i could not imagine why i would buy a 720s instead of the GT2RS.
GT2RS i guess will cost at the end 1-10% of the 720s. (maybe it will be even 150k€ cheaper over 2 years)
and it will be faster. and will have 0 issues (think about all the 570, 12C growing pains)
i bet it will be more emotional to drive than the 720s. the RS feeling + the rose joint chassis

You tell me which is worse.
The 720 and gt2rs are very different cars. If you want to come out financially ahead, the gt2rs is definitely the car to have though.

I think if you really want one of these you will be able to get one. Certainly priced to keep the flippers at Bay. I always said from the beginning that I would not want one because I have no self control and would end up on the side walk with the Hot Dog vendor but most importantly- not interested in a Turbo until there is no more NA GT cars to buy. But- a huge enthusiasts so interested in the reviews and videos to see what this thing can do. I like that Porsche has all these cars hitting the market so close to each other because I think it will help those that really want one. The .2 RS is also just around the corner and I am sure that will also be a beast.

I think it is an amazing car if not about 10% overpriced, but I think Porsche is really trying to discourage flipping the car. I'd consider one depending on if I could get one for msrp and what the market is for my RS. At that price range though, a performante spider is on my short list which should start at about the same price.

I'm still trying to figure out what the wing differences are between the GT3 RS and GT2 RS. I see the uprights and end plates are different. Does the wing sit higher, bigger?

History repeats once again on the forum - anticipation -> anticipation increases -> anticipation reaches all time high -> car is launched -> people posting their feedback seem unimpressed -> videos of the car start to come out from drive tribe, evo etc and then everyone starts to get on board -> reviews come out and people start falling in love -> cars start being delivered and everyone loses their mind because they can't get one and then start to bash Porsche about not making enough etc. etc. etc.
Just think about this car for a second, and re-read the specs
- 700 HP (numbers that 911 owners have wanted and yearned for, it's now here)
- 750 NM from 2,400 RPM
- 0-100 km/h in 2.8 Seconds!!!!! (mental for RWD, and Porsche are always conservative)
- 0-300 km/h in 21 seconds (for reference the 997.2 GT2 RS did this same dash in 29 seconds, and lets face it the 997.2 GT2 RS was definately no slouch). Imagine what this acceleration feels like?
- Only 40KGS heavier than the 991.1 GT3 RS despite way more HP & torque
- Fully rose jointed suspension
- Weissach Pack
The list of things goes on and on and on and on.
And best yet, it's in a 911 - you can take your hypercars and super dooper versions of koenigsegg and pagani, i'll have a riced up 911 everyday of the week.
This car will melt the tarmac and "only" cost one tenth of some hypercars. Not to mention you can get it serviced anywhere in the world without needing a specialist to fly over to fix your car.
What I want to know, are people annoyed about the accomplishment, or just the price, or just because they probably won't get one?
All that aside, this car will be remembered as KING KONG (Porsche development team gave it this nickname).
Credit has to be given to Porsche, they have delivered on a car that people have wanted, and on top of all that, they have made this car very customisable with colour, wheel and options etc.

Now the king is back.
And frankly since change from Mezger, new GT3 engines are just, hmmm, ordinary...even if they rev 9k.
I want one, now I could actually buy one, unfortunately I can't afford one. So I have to stick to my rwd 996 turbo with mere 600 hp.
