^^^^. Wow thats something!

991 GT3RS has just been officially confirmed as 4.0L. Double bubble CF roof and CF hood. Spec to follow. Strongly suggested to be perhaps the last NA GT car (sad if true). Ring time est. 7.17

Thinking about the RSG equalizer - what about an E30? They can be bought pretty cheap, parts & expertise are common. While not intended to be race-spec, it certainly should be a car we don't find overly painful to drive & has a solid motor. And at least it's also German. ?

That's an option. I like it. Spent the whole night talking cars and forgot to ask the Welly crew what they thought would work

It appeals to me too. Ive seen how quickly a race prepped 1.6 can go and was impressed. You could win with one of these or a 2.0 but almost impossible to find anything in manual for $2K.

saw that. Frankly its a pretty good option.

Just wondering is we can find a loophole that allows us to spend $2K NZD at a Japanese auction on the car but the freight, GST and documents get counted as opex as far as the 2K cup rules concerned. Still means we can prove we spent only 2K to buy it. Could open us up to some interesting ricer rockets for beer and skittles money...

E30 may be too heavy relative to other cars mentioned ?

Graeme. I have an early build on order but will not be taking delivery so have offered the allocation to someone else. The price I was indicated was approx Euro 180K including 19% tax (which I would not pay) although this has not been formally announced yet. So approximately 38K premium over the 991 GT3 which is quite significant. It will however be another game changer for Porsche with use of "exotic" materials such as CF in body panels, firmer suspension, wider turbo based body, one piece bucket seats and 4.0L 525 bhp engine all as standard. Brakes and wheel design are likely to stay the same. Launch colour is rumoured to be a burnt orange graphics unknown. Final wing yet to be presented (but it will be large). CD will be up on 991 GT3 and top speed probably very similar as a result but this will be a hardcore track focused machine so very stiff and firm on the road and very quick on a windy track.

For clarity that's 38K Euro premium. Best guess is that the car without options will retail $340K in NZ (only fractionally more than outgoing 997.2 GT3RS as EMD prices have become much sharper in the last 12 months).

Macca, what do you know about the risk of this? I'm sure they'd love to have a word with you, heh.
25 demerits?? Please tell me that's in Aussie/UK or for things other than the exhaust. Have I just woken up from a Rip van Winkle moment to find that the country's gone mad?
