No, stick with the 'reasonably priced car concept.' Guarantee it will be a lot of fun. 7 sessions at Taupo, 2 groups means that 14 RSG members can have a go. Macca can take the first run on a cold track followed by Paul...!
That's fine, I can 'break it' in for you............
.
Personally 3 for me - the fun would be in using it within RSG as a semi competitive (OK, drop the semi...) leaderboard car. THe same car, different drivers - a great leveller! I'd have no objection to it being used in 2k cup but that wouldn't be the driver for me.
That was my main driver as well. The advantage of freedom from the 2k cup rules is that we can spend a bit more and make it more track focussed.
Still looking for car ideas. Something capable of 1.23 without Paul being able to break it would be good.
John - supposedly they don't need breaking in but I would take them out on the road first and get them (very) hot, then a long cool down cycle with total cold before next use. At least you won't get any surprises driving to the NITT. What were your old pads?
Old pads were Brembo. Worked well as a road/track pad. A bit of squealing at first, but once on the SITT they were quiet and fade free. Just feel the need for a more focussed pad and hopefully the PFC 08 compound is that. Seems good so far. Interesting feel if you rub two together. They feel like a knife sharpening stone.
Also looking at ducting to slow my heavy beast versus light foot Lola.
Ok so this is how envisage an RSG only 2K race playing out Wish I was closer so I could join in! YouTube Link
