Maybe Wayne at autothority is worth a shout if interested...

Looks like a clean car from first impression John. Imported 2006, 122k km (?), manual and good exterior colour. I shouldn't think it will last too long at face value. Could be a good track hack for you John!

BTW: Simon said I could pick up his 944 for $50,000. Overall if I was going to race, that would be a better option than this car. Simon is currently racing out of his class; that car is sorted.

Hi John. Im afraid they probably all have some rust lurking under the front and rear window screens. Seems to be a inherent trait of the 964/993. I've replaced both front and rear screens during a glass out respray in 2005\4 and traces of corrosion were found (and addressed) under body warranty (10 years!). Granted it was just light surface rust at that stage but given water gets trapped in there even after washing the car it seems a fact of life. The issue with an ex Uk car is likely to be accelerated deterioration of under body components and tin ware IMHO. Any time on slated roads seem to deal to that.
The white C2 looks like a good platform to run from for someone wanting a manual 964. Granted there will be some tidy up required, but as long as the mechanical are good its un uncommon opportunity these days to pick up a 964 in the early 30s with 10k or so aside to bring it up to standard...

John, if you want to race, and be competitive, a 944 is a far better place to start than a 911 of any vintage. Cheaper to purchase, repair, easier to drive. I have a lot of data that is factual rather than opinion. PM me if you want to know more, as I may get flamed from 911 owners, of which I am one! BTW, I know Simon, a great guy.

I agree. The 944/968/Boxster are great platforms. I worked very hard to keep a 986 Boxster S being driven by a regular Targa Tour entrant at bay during the October event and noted that he was not having to work as hard as me (similar weight to power for both our cars but his was better balanced with a few more driver aids). Having owned and lived with a sorted 968 on road and track for a few years, I do however feel exactly the same as Sean on this matter. For me if it weren't going to be a 911, it simply wouldn't be a Porsche at all. There are so many better/cheaper/more efficient platforms out there now (try a full Targa prepared from new, 2009 350ZX with over 40k of modifications and some very good history asking 35K sold 29K!).

RS ZWEI
Just noticed no one responded to you on this one. I have it no doubt - But that price looks very good. Drop me a PM. Im having a clean out in March to make space in storage and will be putting around 50 Porsche rare books on ebay (including Carrera RS book by Gruber & Projeckt 928 etc). If there is a title you are interested in let me know and Ill tell you if I have it. Most of the books are unread. Likewise around 80 x 1-18 Porsche models (still in boxes) UT, Minichamps etc, 20 x 90s/2000 Porsche calendars etc.

Dont forget this car is in miles, so therefore its done over 200,000kms.

That 944 Turbo looks great. A set of big wide 18" Work wheels and a lowering on some Bilsteins and she'd look the business.
Mind you, I say that about every Porsche I see. haha.
Not sure about the wheels and the tail on the C4, but my cup of tea is not everyones.
