The scary thing with Tirerack now is a set of those will be $2500 landed and taxed vs only 700 more for a set of larger R20 MPSC2 on the GT3! Ill get a local quote and see what happens....appreciate everyone's help and ideas tho...
CCS European tyres are doing pretty good deals on Pirellis. For my road tyres I got 20% disc for PCNZ members, 2x 265/35R19s for about $1600 all inclusive fitting, balancing and GST. IIRC similar price for my MPSS equivalents all landed and fitted when the NZD was much stronger vs the USD back in Feb 15.

Thanks Doug. It's an option but I have never enjoyed the Pirellis I had fitted previously to my 911 (Pzero & Corsa). That said I'm sure they make great road tyres. personal preference. The new MPSC2 325/35 R20 for the GT3 cost me $1682 fitted/balanced from Nathan Webber (now CCS). I can understand why you would want to try something else after the puncture record you have had with the Boxster.

Can someone PM me the tire rack persons email for export and is there a way you can pay by PayPal?

must have missed somewhere Pete selling the R? After HD Festival and the big dose of Pcar stuff makes you want a trakcar. Haha not sensible with my fleet and not sure what I would cut. Not even sure how much it would get used unless I cut back on Targa commitments.... No harm in thinking though right?

Yes, the R is on the Market.

Pete, I hope my thoughtless remark about parking it outside the salon isn't the cause of you selling??

RSG has NITT (2 tracks) confirmed for Nov 19-21 with a December HD date tentatively looking like 01 or 02 December...

How are you going sorting out your potential electrical gremlins?
I'd heard a rumour thru the bike world that membership would be needed to access the full track and that would be $10-15K pa. Wait see I guess.

Yep, Mr Blue sorted. New leads, rotor and dissy cap sorted it. Pulling like a schoolboy.

Mark, I got tyres thru tire rack about a year ago. They wouldn't do paypal or credit card then (unless you have a US CC?). Had to pay by bank wire which was a bit of a hassle but once done four tyres arrived within about 5 days .

Yep - mortally wounded by that comment

But seriously, the R is an epic car. I've just fallen into the same issue I had with the 964 - I can't do 7/10ths and to do 9/10ths I'd need to basically turn it into a dedicated track car and change all the underpinnings. The 944 is better for that and a whole lot less investment to risk. And for DD I prefer the manual S with comfort seats and cupholders

I think there will be a period where the full track is only available to members. But we only have the 2.7km track now so not necessarily going backwards. I'm waiting to hear about availability for RSG. Will report on that forum when I hear.

The lightweight race jack is great - got mine from Steve. Can't remember what its called but they are low and easy to transport.

I think that an Air NZ Onesmart card also works. It certainly does for paying for US Netflix...

Me too. Having now bent a couple of the SuperCheap type ones (they skew sideways and then cam up on the way down), I'm keen to find a stronger one that still small enough to take to race meets but that can handle the kind of mild inclines and soft substrate you find in the paddock.

On the RallyCross front, Graeme, you're probably too far south to be tempted but just in case anyone else here has something they might want to give a run:

J. I use a Bacho. This one from memory. Perfect fit under sills. Smooth as butter, stable, robust and a pleasure to use. Welcome to try before you buy

p.s. I don't remember paying that price though - was mid $400's from memory

This might have a small impact on the Aussie second hand Porsche import market
