I know its overcase in those pictures but Kiwis dont like bright coloured cars do they? Mostly a sea of blacks, grey/seilvers, dark blues etc. Your white 996TT and a few of the GT3s stand out in the croud.

Track day ended up with Blue Sky. Paul was at the point of calling the whole day off, but some enthusiasm from the attendees saw this put off until 12:30. At 12:00 the Sun came out. Two sessions each group, then arrive and drive format. Eddie did a spectcular set of spins down the main straight when it was wet. I lost count of how many even after watching the video a few times. Some gardening by the 964s e.g. Warwick on the outside of turn 3. Another 964 gardened the inside of turn 3. No damage, but I bet Warwick has a full day valeting again. Hard to say how many newbies caught the bug. I hope 15 August is dry and well patronised. I may bring the R out for that.

Sorry Pel. Premature evacuation.

It dried out nicely after lunch. I wasn't going to hang around but just started chatting and before i knew it it was clear and a dry line emerged. Sadly, i had a wee oversteer moment and ended in the trap on T3. I was getting impatient following a slower car for a number of laps and was too close behind when he slowed mid corner. I did what i shouldn't have and lifted off. Well thats all she wrote, almost caught it but was a passenger by then. Quick rinse and back out. As John's t-shirt said: it will buff out.

Default Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

We knocked off for "lunch" at about 11am while it bucketed down and passed time watching HD crash videos including Neil's miraculous spinner compliments of Gary. That was good to continue to reinforce "take it easy" the the newbies. I took it easy in the RS60 on the main straight (took my foot out of it at 140-160) and enjoyed the corners and full excelleration on the short straights.

After lunch blue skies arrived and it remained only residual water and drying well by my last outing. I didn't want any red mist to descend as if you left the racing line it was greasy so John and I bailed at around 2pm after a day of smiles and cars unharmed.

Your trace is nice and smooth John. Just need to hold it in longer and brake later I reckon. I'll see if I can find my 993 PB trace 16.8 when I'm on the PC but I'm pretty sure it's a VBox one before I bought the Aim so you may not beable to overlay..,

What a strike of luck with the sun coming out. Looks like a dry line started to emerge but not a lot of dry for any sneaky high speed overtaking moves.

I've been off the track there twice Warwick in my car, once with Paul driving once with myself both times in the dry! It's the one corner you can least afford to upset the car but there is plenty of track there to slow you down...

I'm glad i'm not the only one. It was pretty innocuous and no harm done though i am sitting here replaying it in my head. Not stewing on it just trying to learn from my mistake. T3 is my favourite corner on the track an possibly why i had the off.

Do you still have the 996.1 GT3 or is that in the UK now too?
Still got the 996.1 GT3, and it's looking perfect as my cleaning guy just gave it the clay bar treatment. I am thinking of selling it though as I'm undergoing a rethink on strategy. Looking to sell 4-5 cars and replace with 1-2 higher value ones.

The M3 CSL went a few weeks ago, RS2 is up for sale and I will also probably sell the Walkinshaw. The 997.1 GT3 RS may also go on top of the 996.1 GT3 if I can track something special down - probably another F car. I've got the new GT3 RS arriving next year I think, so the odd track day will be suited to that car I think.

You're in the club. A few of us have spun there. Myself, Pete, John, and plenty more. Keeping a little power on and using the full exit width helps.

This gif sequence gives a view you don't see from behind the steering wheel https://www.dropbox.com/s/izc05w9qeb...sspin.gif?dl=0

There is more elevation change than you expect. You need to counteract the unweighting of the rear and the camber throwing the car out of the corner. You can not lift and it's best to allow the car to move right, as Doug said.

Surely you're not fishing for details!! We're in polite company thank you. What I can say is that I could get pretty damn addicted to the Reuben Sandwiches at the Fedral St Deli though!

Was nice to wake up to rain smashing into the window on the 19th floor and not have to think about putting the wets on. The track drug habit continues at Puke next weekend so haven't missed out too much.
