Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
Yes, well said. The driver in this case is a Targa competitor, not a newbie and the briefing couldn't have been clearer about the danger. That's why I suggested the safety check on the appropriate equipment because the experience and explanation of the dangers didn't get through.

I suppose that depends on what the desired outcome was. Watching the driver afterwards I'd say spinning the length of the main straight hitting the concrete wall in the process wasn't what he set out to achieve. I ran in the same group as him and came home in one piece, which is exactly what I wanted to do. As Steve said at the briefing, "drive to the conditions, a successful track day is driving home with what you came in". All but one achieved that.
OCD, and good old fashioned common sense, got the better of me and just finished washing all the gravel out of the car. Wheels off gave me a good op to give the wells a give clean while i was in there. Surprised how much kitty litter survived the drive home. Broadsiding into the gravel also created some moderate scratches. Oh well, i'll just have to break out the buffer...

The 61-year-old drummer was arrested at his Tauranga home on Saturday night and is being held in custody.
He is set to appear in Tauranga District Court tomorrow morning.
It is understood prostitutes were present at Rudd's home at the time of his arrest.
Somewhat prophetic I guess!!

Yesterday turned out to be a great day in the end -- I'm glad I waited around a bit because I came very close to leaving before lunch. Paul, thanks for organising and I think your management throughout the day was spot on.
I also had 888s on, they're the only tyre I've got. I know they're not ideal in the wet but I would've been disappointed to be turned away because of them. I've had a big spin in the wet and now I have more respect. (For what it's worth, I think Steve had the same tyre on his RS rep in the wet sprints last year and still managed a 1.19.)
John/Doug -- surprised to see you gone so early! The sun was shining, the track was dry and getting warmer, traffic was sparse... I was looking forward to watching you duel
