Jake. You are cheating. radar detectors, tyres and geo don't count or some of us RSG guys will have to add 10-15k to our bill these last 2+ years :-)
John. You are most welcome to play rabbit next time. I definitely would not have expected you to have stepped out noticeably anywhere on those drives during that weekend. We really weren't pushing hard enough to break traction anywhere (although Paul would have been working harder at times in the old girl). If you want to go a bit harder summer is better. otherwise Targa Tour albeit with all the new restrictions.
If I owned a Cayman and was intending to drive it hard on road or track I think I would like to know the answer to my question before I needed to know the answer to my question if you get my drift...I suspect this is the bit that catches out Cayman drivers. I know it did Brent's brother in law when he wrote off the Cayman S in 2011 Tour. he explained it well. 911 drivers are fearful of the dynamics before they ever step in the car first time. I think with Cayman it sticks very well till it goes and you would need to be aware how it goes before the polar moment of inertia takes over to have a **** show of catching it. Mind you same can be said for 911 which is why some start turning the wheel the other way and keeping the gas squeeze on a little at the first sign of rearward break away. just a few thoughts that's all...

^^^ I think the blue car is photo shopped onto the road. All these old girls are static displays or in a 100 bits getting restored?
Whens the last time you saw a long hood on the road :-)

Macca, I figure if I lose the R on the road or track I won't do anything special, just put the brake on and steer. I reason that there is no dominant handling fault at the limit so nothing I can plan for. In any case how many times have I ever lost it? Not many as I'm not an aggressive driver.

Steves 2.4 is the only long hood Ive seen that actually has a motor that propels the wheels. I think the big reason yours is taking so long as his is going to depreciate by there being two in the country that actually get driven!
