Appreciate you all coming. No doubt there will be more BBQs or dinners. We should try another lunch drive. We need to bridge the gap for those just wanting to commune. I'd like to see a tour option for NITT. More options = more participants.

"Sucks not being closer to you all " - Kiwi carguy

Agreed, living in relative isolation limits opportunities somewhat

Had a Sunday drive up to Langs Beach, taking the same route as we did recently, leaving from Soljans at 8:30am. Traffic manic on the highways but as soon as we hit Peak Rd it was all but clear the way up and on return.

Spent the day at Langs Beach; such a great spot. Every time we've driven past I've wanted to stop for a swim. Happy to have done so and will make it a regular weekend mission this summer. If anyone else is keen let me know, a slower paced run with friends/family and day at the beach is worthwhile.

Not the most aesthetically pleasing combo in my opinion. but to each their own. Those wheels don't suit a modern car, they're too curvy. The car needs a more angular body to offset them.

Doug, had the afternoon with Dean and his partner. Showed him your tyre picture. He said that usually happens when the tyre has been run flat previously. Sounds like a previous owner may have run that tyre with no air and damaged the side wall....

I had a look at the tyre and it was evident that it had really worn around that inner edge. The tread had worn through on the inside inch of the tyre. The rest of the tread was fine as was the whole tyre on the right hand rear. We thought it may be an alignment issue. You think previous run-flat would have made it more susceptible to wear?

Correct. Running a low profile tyre with no air will damage the tyre side wall. Once inflated this damage may not be evident but will often manifest itself at a later date. CCS like others advocate that if the flat tyre has been run on the side-wall any significant duration the tyre be replaced.

The other thing that can cause this is a hole caused by a screw or nail etc entering into the steel belt and then water getting in. The steel belt rusts over time and under load lets go delaminating. Usually obvious by signs of rusty steel in the left over carnage.

I noticed this morning that the Cayman has a distinctly different exhaust note to Herman on your morning commute John. Much quieter.
Herman wins that one, even over that black 430 Spider with the overactive exhaust bypass valve that the driver loves to activate every time on my corner.

Could it be that we saw that Intergrale in your avatar at HD yesterday?

It was advertised as having a Sports Exhaust, but evidently doesn't. That said, the engine noise seems sporty enough inside the cabin when I hit the throttle. Tonight I'll try harder

Also tonight I'll download the ECU software and start working out how to program out the LWF stall. Another kit owner has given me some direction on what I need to do. Then I can alternate between the Cayman and Herman.
