Thanks for the kind words & pics! Was an absolute blast out there & wish I could have stayed for the BBQ runs. The three integra siblings are going to be a great tool to develop some racecraft at a deal you can't beat.

Now you are talking Chris. Bring back a 964 or 993 from the US maybe? We need to replenish the air cooled brigade even if we use them for long road trips and Honda's for racing aye.

Seven hour road trip with my Dad today in the Cayenne S. Up to Opononi to pick up personal stuff from an investment property which we've sold, settles 31 October. A nice drive. May come back through the Maungakahia Valley. Very special place to us.

on the last run home for Targa prep - car is scrutineered tonight, pick up 4 new wheels from the USA container and mount tyres, fill with nitrogen, pick up fuel cans and nitrogen bottle, check 200kph speed cut programming on the motec (new tyre size) .....pack

Good luck mate, will be thinking of you on the trip and watching the stage times with a fair amount of jealousy! I'm in Wellington in Mid- Nov so will look to meet up for a beer and to get all the stories.

Graeme. Ive got a good feeling about this one. I think its going to be be your turn out there this year. Pace it till the last day (car preservation), roads should be smoother but coarser than the NI. Will be following you from my hammock - best of luck mate!
P.S. Has the speed limit always been 200 kmph on the Targa Comp? I know that they have recently set the Tour at around 160kmhp but back in 2012 I cant recall there being a max for full comp?

there has always been a Vmax but not so easy to enforce until recently with trackit gps - now very hard to speed.
Not many will be familiar with the roads so the issue will be to keep the pace under control with more than normal in reserve I think because there is always one or two corners that are car killers. So I think our strategy will be to drive our own pace and see what happens rather than trying to race guys in our class. Must be getting old because If that means second then I am happy with that haha - as long as the car is in one piece....

Burning Brakes
Back in NZ finally. Get far enough thru my chores to sneak out and start the Turbo. Fires first pop, running smooth. Drive off slowly - something aint right. Flat right rear, unrepairable. So, please...
Who can give me the idiots guide to buying tires from tire rack and the subtleties of getting them landed and thru customs? Also, what is the latest thinking on high performance road tyres that are good enough for wet days on the road but perform on the track? Thanks.

Choose the model, size etc on tirerack.com put in cart then screenshot and email junior@tirerack.com who will the prepare a shipping quote. You have to pay by TT being the only hassle. They will ship fedex and youll have them within 7 days. You will need an importer code from customs and will have to pay them GST by CC. Overall savings around 35%.
A street tyre that wont slow you down too much on the track (maybe 2-2.5s a lap slower at hD than Z221) = Michelin Pilot Super Sport which should be easy in your 18" sizes. Neil runs them every NITT on the GT3 and doesnt appear too slow on them....
